I saw the rheumatologist yesterday afternoon and he told me that the trouble with the pain I'm having in my legs, arms, knees, hands etc isn't arthritis but is neurological in nature.I asked him if it could be a condition that had been in the back of my mind for ages and with that his face clouded over and he became quite serious and told me that that's what he was afraid it might be.He told me not to take his word on it as it would have to be confirmed by a neurologist. Now for the bad news-there is at least a 13-14 month wait list to see a neurologist in Newfoundland(and that goes for most specialists)our health care system is at 3rd world standards-seriously.With the nature of this condition in 14 months I could be in a very degraded state as this condition is uncureable and gets progressively worse as time goes on plus it is 100% fatal-it can only be slowed down to a degree.I won't say what it could be because it may not be that at all-I hope and pray it isn't anyway. My family doctor went to med school with one of the better neurologists around and she said that she would get in touch with him and plead my case and try to get me seen within the next couple of weeks. My cousin is the nurse/manager of the neurological floor of a hospital in Halifax N.S. and she may be able to get me a referal there. Also the Newfoundland government will send people to other provinces and even to the U.S. in special circumstances,to be seen by specialists. If they would send me to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota,I'd be over the moon.

Yet more mojo heading your way, hoping for the best for you. I had some horrible pain in my hands, feet and joints a few years back and went to a rheumatologist, but suddenly the pain dissapeared on it's own. I still worry it will come back, and I feel for your suffering because I know it can be brutal.
