So if you have not seen this yet check it out. If you have, what do you think? IMO a few great "guitarists" were left out. Steve Vai,Satriani,Eric Johnson,Joe Bonamassa to mention. I love this mag, well put together. Like Fender's new mag. The top ten was pretty good, mine would be only slightly different.

The only one that made me cringe was seeing Tom Morrello on there. How are you gonna change the game with only power chords? It's just neeto how he makes his guitar sound like a hip hop turntable.

I definitely thought it was weird that Joe Bonamassa wasn't on there. He's definitely better than a lot of the individual's they have on there.

Lindsey Buckingham at 100, Rory Gallagher at 57, Jonny Greenwood at 48, Jerry Garcia at 46 and no Peter Green. I don't agree. The problem with lists like these is that they're so subjective.

"Rolling Stone" is a joke just like the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame"...... just a bunch of suits at a desk deciding what they think we should like.

You wonder if these lists aren't generated by accountants.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I believe that the accountants involvement is more along the lines of "how can we make even more money?" whereas the list is generated by putting a whole bunch of names of guitar players in a big container (except for the ones that the editors feel should be in the top 10) and then tipping the container over at the top of a set of stairs and forming the rest of the list based on where the names ended up and of course, stopping when you've reached one hundred.
That's how we did it when I was still teaching 8)

I think that's the month, but its a limited edition. I'm of the opinion that it was a popularity contest. There were artists involved in the voting. SRV at #12,come on! Townsend is not a better player.,or Harrison. That's my opinion again.

And I'm not a fan of rolling stone. I love the quality of the physical magazine.

How about Derek Trucks, James Burton, Scotty Moore, Joe Bonamassa. It seems that RS, seems to pander to a mainstream.

Over the years, Rolling Stone has gone way too far left, liberal, politically speaking.
