Those of you who have met Doc and his lovely wife, know exactly what I mean when I say that he is a class act and I'm proud to call him a friend.

In the past few years, we've missed getting together due to timing conflicts and although some were close (When Ceri was in the States, for example) we always kept in touch but had never met.

All of that changed yesterday on a beautiful, sunny day on the coast of Maine.

After meeting, we had lunch on an outdoor deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at a very nice restaurant and sat there for another two and half hours talking about all kinds of things from Strats, Fender, Vacations, People, Music and the weather, which was an 11 on a scale of 1-10 yesterday!

We could have gone on for several more hours, but he was on a family vacation and we both were trying to stick to schedules. When we returned to my car we both noticed that we had missed several calls. I drove Doc back to his vacation hotel and wished him the best...and I sincerely meant it!

If you read this, Doc, hope that the rest of your vacation is as wonderful as yesterday was for me!!!

-Mike

Ah, very cool!

I haven't met Mrs Doc but I can certainly back you in saying ZZ is a class act and the real deal! Lotta fun to be had with that gentleman. 8)

Sounds like you had a great time - nothing like missed phone calls to prove that point!

All the best to both of you - C

Hi Ceri and thanks!

One of Doc's missed calls was from the rest of his 'entourage' asking where was he and saying that they had left without him. I think that he probably caught up with them eventually.

edited to add - fhopkins, hope that all is still well with you and that 'Isaac' didn't rough you up too much!

Greetings from Maine. Ditto on the cudos from Mike..a class act in his own right. Couldn't think of a better way of closing out my 6th decade. Turned 70 today. Hoping that Hopkins has weathered the storm. Last email from him was yesterday morning but things were just beginning to cook. Major mojo out to him and his.

I'm glad that you and Doc had such a great time together,I'd love to meet all of my friends that I haven't met face to face yet.The closest I have come to meeting another forum member was a couple of years ago when I was in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and was talking to Serge on the phone but something unexpected came up and regretably Serge couldn't make it to the music store we were to meet in.I hope that some day I'll have a chance to meet some Forumites somewhere in this wide world we live in.

You find yourself there again be sure to let us know in advance. There are at least four of us who would enjoy breaking bread with you.

Thank you for posting Mike and keeping the Forum in the loop. Glad that you Bros and a Sister apparently got to spend some quality time together. I love seeing these friendship threads, there are so precious few of them, and, knowing that Forum members try to find time to meet and share good vibes with one another is a big smile for me.
Happy Birthday Doc! Hoping that one of these times I can join you all and wish all of you a heartfelt happy birthday in person!
Love,
Rollie (SBLS)
