Cryingstrat-Years ago......I played a Guild at Guitar Center. It sounded FANTASTIC..only......the guitar was pink. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a pink guitar. I know........."real men play pink guitars"...but....I folded and bought an Ovation "Legend" instead. (hanging head in shame)

Doesn't Fender own Takamine? Better buy Martin from the poll results.

For years, I played an old Yamaha, and before that acoustic no-names. It was limiting, very limiting. I've got a Taylor Big Baby, but I'm sorry it just can't cut it and so I leave it to my wife, who's been ignoring it. To play acoustic, I just roll the gain back on my Blues Junior to about 5 and play my Strat. It's better than any acoustic - crystal with sustain. If acoustics were as good, Strats and other electrics never would have taken off. They had mikes. Everyone would have just miked the acoustics.

Funny i saw this thread on Martin/Takamine guitars

cuz here the other day the most expensive guitar ever sold in Norway was sold and it was an Martin D-100

http://www.ba.no/puls/musikk/article3463418.ece

check out the link for a picture of the guitar but i doubt that any of you will unterstand much of the writings....

(Btw the guitar got sold in my local music store and the guy playing it in the picture wich is also the leader for the guitars is a good friend of mine....)

Strat58cat-I bought a Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator. I love it! With a little tweaking, you can get some great acoustic sounds from your electric. If you get a chance......and find one in a musical store, you might give it a try.

I've owned a few Guild jumbo's over the years, 6 and 12 string. To me they are every bit the equal of Gibson or Martin. Especially the 12 strings. No one makes a better 12 string jumbo. The Guild JF 55's and JF 65's are fantastic.
