I DIDN'T BUY IT.

But, I found a 1980s Peavey Bass amp. I think it said it was 60W. It was missing the cloth on the front, but it was in great shape other than that.

I also found a very very strange amp. It was a no name amp, it only said that it was 100W and was trans tube. It had loads of knobs, switches, and inputs. I'm considering going back and testing it out. It was a 1x12 in a very large cab.

Another thing I found was a bunch of vintage studio equipment. There was a mixer and a reel to reel recorder.

Just some pretty cool stuff, imo. I'm honestly considering that amp, though.

What's Goodwill? Is it like eBay or something like that?

It's basically a chain of thrift shops. I found a Hagstrom last summer. Was short the cash and it was gone when I came back.

Sounds like you found some good stuff. We don't have Goodwill where I live, but we do have Value Village (owned by Walmart, I think) and the Salvation Army thrift store. Unless I miss the good stuff, those 2 stores never have anything but overpriced junk.

The reason why I keep checking GW is because my friend found a higher end Ibanez S for only $200 in pretty much perfect condition, plus that Hagstrom I saw. Just stuff like that keeps me going.

Its nothing like eBay or Walmart. Its essentially a charitable organization dedicated to "enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work."

http://www.goodwill.org/

The chain of stores resell donated merchandise to help fund that cause and for many who've been afflicted by hard times, now and before, often find many necessities at prices within their means, especially clothing. They sometimes also use eBay too. Its a lot more than just a bargain basement for bottom feeders looking to score from the uninitiated (not that my definition is meant to apply to anyone here in this context).

As was the point of the op, there is to be found the occasional item of interest that's been discarded and priced to sell by those only hoping to get "something" for it. Good luck with the amp(s), post pictures.

PS. What model Hagstrom?

Sounds like some cool stuff. I'd be all over that reel to reel recorder!

was an old panasonic.

looked like it was from the 70s. (when the fake wood paneling was a huge thing) probaly pre-1975.

it was heavy as hell too.

it also used 3.5mm jacks, which I find odd.
