Check 'em out, pick 'em up, spread the word!

Although I was just the singer, one of the guitarists played teles, so it's somewhat appropriate for this board, right? LOL! :)

Let me know what you think!

You're either kidding, or confused, LOL! About the closest we ever got to opening for either of those bands would be the fact that after I left the band, they became "Down From Zero", and opened for Mudvayne once.

But no, the Lift (6) Eighteen that I was in never opened for either Coldplay or Slipknot... and to my knowledge, there's never been another band with the same name.

The songs are decent though, you should check them out! Perhaps even buy a few songs, if not an entire album... I could use my 20% of the 91% the band makes off of each $0.99 download... which ironically works out to eighteen cents, LOL! Hook a bruddah up!

Sounds really good! I just might buy some songs, if not the whole album. Thanks for sharing!

So, Mac ~ how are sales?
Do you enjoy CD Baby's way of promotion?

Is CD Baby a good outlet for small unknown groups
to give them a box of CDs for their inventory and to promote you?

What do you think? Toppscore :)

Well, recent experience with a group of English pensioners that I play P Bass in (Reunion 69)has been good. You certainly get a lot for your money in terms of placing your music for sale onto a whole load of well known platforms (both in CD & download format)

We have recorded an album of original songs titled Dreamchild, & been trying - not very successfully - to sell this via our own web site (http://www.reunion69.co.uk) so thought that the CDBaby option was worth a try for little money & no long term commitment.

Whether sales are increased, not sure, but certainly worth a try imo?

If you want a laugh at our expense have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vtlo8iodVpg - More there as well from the album if you haven't used up all the rotten fruit already!

I've only had them up for a couple days, but I've already seen a couple sales. I haven't really pushed much promo yet, aside from mentioning them here, at the PRS forum I post on, and on facebook... I'll need to sell another 10 or 11 albums in order to break even, but anything after that is pure profit. I might get to that point in a month or two, it's no big deal. I really just wanted to have the stuff available, since I've had a few people find me and ask for CDs over the years. Just selling them as downloads was much cheaper and made more sense to me than to print physical discs again... But if this were for a current band that was actively writing and playing shows, I think the CD Baby business model would be very productive. It really does seem to be a win-win for everyone involved, and their 9% cut doesn't hurt any more than selling stuff on ebay. And I think you get a lot more for your money than with ebay, especially if you use all of their marketing tools, along with some marketing work of your own.

Yes. Over time I have purchased maybe 25 CDs from CD Baby.
Mostly Blues based or Jazz vocalists. Good stuff. Toppscore :)

Do you sell CDs or just MP3's on CD Baby?

How about some MP4's for a bit of MTV with you and Hanna Montana going at it

Just MP3s currently... But I plan to use CD Baby for my upcoming solo album, and probably for both bands I'm currently playing in... so that's three forthcoming projects that I will also be selling physical CDs for. The Lift stuff, there hasn't been a physical product on those since we ran out of our initial orders back in the day. I figure if the MP3 sales show enough interest in a physical re-release, maybe then I'll think about a short run re-print... but most likely those albums will stay purely digital for now.

CDs are so much better and more cool.
I am a big collector and have huge inventories of MP3s, MP4sand tons of CDs.
I'll buy CDs, any day of the week (if I can) over MP3s.

Do, CDs and do fun artwork and tell cool stories and share
what the band likes to eat and which day of the week you guys shower,
important stuff like that
