I have about eight songs that I taped last week. Three of them need some editing. I'll post the other five for your listening pleasure. It takes over an hour to upload each, so I'll probably do one each night. To start off, here's "The Ballad of John Henry".

A story from the "Sad But True" files.

We have a local bar that has a blues jam every Monday night. I try to go once or twice a month to watch. There's some really good players in this town. Last night I stayed home and uploaded the Bonamassa video. Last night Joe Bonamassa showed up at the blues jam and sat in with the locals for four songs. This is a bar that only holds a hundred or so people. Talk about wrong place at the wrong time.

The next video us uploading. I'll post it in a while.

Here's the next one up. Dr. John plays organ on this slow blues number with Joe B.

I had something very similar happen to me once. There was a benefit show at a venue where I play very often that I thought about going to, but didn't. I checked my Facebook news feed that night and it was flooded with people who had gone to the event and had gotten to meet and take pictures with Billy Gibbons, who just so happened to be there. I've been kicking myself in the butt ever since.

Thanks for posting these videos though, I honestly didn't get a chance to watch him for more than about 30 seconds. I had to hunt down my friends, and I ended up getting caught up in several different conversations with people. Next time he's in Houston I'm definitely going to go see him in a more relaxed setting. :)

Hi Drew - ouch!

Many of us have those sorts of stories. My wife is in publishing and has to go to various publishing parties, awards ceremonies and similar. Sometimes I go along but mostly I cry off if I can: it's not very interesting for civilians. Beginning of this year she had to go to a "thing" and I decided to stay home with a nice movie. I drove over to collect her after and she told me she'd been having a good long talk with writer Polly Samson and her husband... Dave Gilmour. Gggggnnnnnnuh!

In my imagination the conversation would have gone like this: "Hey, Dave; you and I are the only non-book people in this room. We're bored to tears with publishing stuff so let's talk about something else. Now then..."

Anyhow. Nice Bonamassa vid. Thanks for taking the time to upload it. (BTW: does that man ever play the same rig two months in a row?)

Cheers - C

Ceri; you made me feel better with your DG story! This is the same rig I've seen Joe use lately. He has the Train Wreck and I believe a Dumble on the center stack. I wondered how much he misses his rig when he does sit ins, like the blues jam the other night.

Next one I have is Who's Been Talkin?

I dont even have words for how badly I feel for you both..personally I think you should both go out and buy something new and guitar related to take some of the pain away..Bonamassa would have bummed me but DG I think I would have needed therapy! lol
Id like to say years from now you will look back on this and laugh but its highly unlikely!

Now, Sloe Gin. He's using one of his '59 LP Bursts. Notice that he starts the song fingerpicking, and keeps the pick in the palm of his hand, held in by his index finger. When he switches, he rolls it out into his fingers. He does this several times during his set. He's a multi-task master.

I'll jump ahead to the encore and leave it at that. He came out and did Crossroads. He'd thrown his sunglasses into the crowd after the last song of the regular set, so he's unmasked for this last one.
