Yea, I understand everyone disliking them to some extent, but honestly, I enjoy some of them from time to time. I especially enjoy the band Slaughter. They're not my main music, but you know, they're good songs. Right now I'm watching the music video for Skid Row's I Remember You

Just pay some respect to the rock and roll of the 80s, I guess. Everyone has listened to it and enjoyed it at one point.

(Also, my hurricane opinion about hair metal bands still stands)

There is nothing wrong with a good power ballad session every now and again, theres no shame in throwing your arms in the air and belting out some loud lyrics if it makes you feel good.

Although I may not have the same like for the power ballad now that I'm in my 40's, at one time it made for good times with the young ladies of that era. A couple wine coolers, some power ballads, done deal!

In my experience a couple in drinking terms could be anything! Personally a couple of gin and tonics my mom makes is about two pints of it

don't worry, my friend's mom was totally cool with it, though.

Power Ballads. Musically, not a fan. However, there is no denying their power over the girls of the 80's. A necessary evil in my book. :)

I was way into thrash metal back then so power ballads were never to my liking, but when it came to the ladies, Purple Passion was the drink of choice not wine coolers.

...still, I'll take a power ballad over any of today's hip-hop-pop drivel!

I'll take a power ballad (complete with wicked, ultra high, soaring vocals) over the crap that's on the radio today.

Check this out. Remember these guys? They came out a little too late, just as the "80's hair metal" craze went out of style and grunge was in.

Steelheart - Angel Eyes (I'll never let you go)

Edit: Question... How in the $*%& was that guy able to sing like that?
