Thanks! I sure will. I don't exactly know how to restring an acoustic yet. I'll figure it out, though. And I'm not sure of a gauges. are they the same as electric?

When you remove the strings you'll understand, the only difference is that the strings are held in place with pins. Just insert the ball end into the bridge, insert the pin, and as you tighten, the pin might pop out, but just keep shoving it in and eventually it will stay in place. Here's my first string job on mine.

Ain't no big thing, you'll get it. Oh yeah the gauge should be 80/20 12-52 (or 53).

No 8's. A minimum of 10s.

11's or 12's would have a better tone. Remember, this is a "Box", you really don't need thin strings because you won't be bending them much.

Your first assignment. :P

I'm not even fully acquainted with the guitar yet. Haven't even had a first date!

It's what I use. I don't bend at all, or play solos. I just use a small gauge.

You'll get used to the 12's. Especially that wounded G string will feel weird at first, but the best thing is that you will build stronger calluses and finger muscles. Remember that putting lighter strings will affect your intonation, sound, and overall setup of the guitar. You will need a truss rod adjustment that's for sure. Avoid such trouble and just get used to the 12's.

Congrats buxom, it's a beaut.
I use Martin Phosphorus Bronze SP 12s these are considered
Light strings.
They make my Yamaha sound awesome, sounds full.
Put some 12s and have a tech set it up for you.
And they'll feel great.
You can have super light strings but high action and a crappy
setup and they'll make your fingers work.
