Well, I bought myself a factory second Fender Sonoran S acoustic. It has a cosmetic flaw in the pickguard. It arrived this afternoon.

Let me just say that the overall craftsmanship of this guitar is superb. There is not a single sharp fret end, high fret, or bit of loose binding anywhere. The solid spruce top really projects and resonates well. The neck feels like it was designed for my hand. I can comfortably be a lazy thumb and still play all of the stuff I want to. The frets are different, they're very small compared to what I'm used to, but I'm adjusting. The higher frets are extremely easy to access on all strings. It played great straight out of the box. Very, very, smooth playing instrument.

The looks of this guitar are simply stunning. The bird's eye on the headstock really goes with it well, the finishes used really express the grains in the wood. The binding on the edges kind of offsets everything and ties it together. But, my favorite part is actually the pickguard. It's 2 different tones of gold because I guess it wasn't made properly. Its got kind of this little bit of personality. I don't know how to describe it, it's just cool.

I sat outside with it and enjoyed myself for about 45 minutes today. The neighbors and passersby were all staring at me. I'll try to get a demo up eventually, something that shows some highs and lows.

Not sure how to name a guitar. And I do plan on keeping it for a while, no worries there. And anything tied to Willie is bound to look like a stick of beef jerky

SK, I had been playing unplugged a lot so I bought the best guitar I could for the best price I could find.

There were just certain sounds I could get, but couldn't record while unplugged.

Honestly, I'd recommend you browse eBay for Fenders with factory defects. I got this for 63% off of new price. But I have little experience with them, the ones I've played were an old beat up no name classical my friend owns, a Takamine or a Jasmine (can't remember), and this one. This one is by far the nicest, I think.

It was weird first playing it. My Tele's action is so high and this has such low, smooth, action

Congrats! Love the strat headstock. Fender acoustics have to be the most underrated guitars out there. My cheap CD60CE impressed one of my good friends which is a die hard Martin fan. the stock fender coated strings were crap. I installed a set of phosphor bronze strings and it truly brought that guitar to life!

Enjoy her, she's a beauty!

Thanks! I sure will. I don't exactly know how to restring an acoustic yet. I'll figure it out, though. And I'm not sure of a gauges. are they the same as electric?

Thanks dude! I had one thing I recorded with it, but it was low quality. I need to experiment with mic positions.

I like to think of it as a box now, that's pretty clever. :P

Everything I've played so far has been sounding like country music to me. I guess I've gone to a completely different spectrum of playing, rather than a new level?
