What!! "You started without us!" "You carved the turkey without us!!"

That having been said.....You understand, of course, that FMIC enjoys the luxury of an extremely eclectic fan base known to have the capabilities of being a royal pain in the $@! at time. However, we do have a way of keeping 'yuze boyos' minding your "P's" and "Q"'s. Soooo....with that in mind, I just returned from the GC in Coconut Creek where I got a great deal on a keyboard and still find nary a new American Vintage guitar in the lot and, what's more, that yours truly and probably anyone else in these Forum could spins around their sales force with respect to knowledge about Fender gear. I'll be in the Seattle area from the 22nd through the 29th and I'll check out two of my regular GC haunts there, and hope to make the EMP stop this time around. See what condition 'ol Brownie' is in. Have a safe one.

Doc [/quote]

last time I was at EMP (last January), Brownie was not on display.

First time I saw it, not longer after Paul Allen bought it, it was in a large display case with all the paraphernalia. Then it disappeared. Later on, resurrected and put in a small case in the big guitar room with the 24hr video which show EC playing it on the Cash show. Not there now???

Does anyone know if the American Vintage Series qualifies for the $100 "Instant Holiday Savings" just announced on the Fender site (and eMail)? All I can find is "qualifying Squire and Fender gear". Very close to deciding on a '52 or '57 Vintage Tele and that would certainly hasten my decision. Thanks.

So here's the best fine print can find, it doesn't seem to exclude the American Vintage Series, any ideas if it qualifies for the $100 rebate?

"“Qualifying Products” include Fender, Squier and Passport products purchased through participating authorized Fender and Squier dealers in the U.S.A. and Canada from November 16, 2012 through December 31, 2012 on authorized dealers’ in-stock merchandise."

I decided to call Fender to get an answer, the agent said that there was nothing disqualifying the American Vintage Series from the Instant Holiday Savings, and meeting the other requirements (dealer stock, US / Canada) each would receive a $100 rebate. :D

Visited the local Fender retailer in my area & got a surprise that was not expected. Asked about the AVRI '62 P-Bass & it no longer shows as available. Just sold out for 2012 or discontinued? The store e-mailed their Fender rep who responded that none show in the system anymore.

It's my impression that the new American Vintage Series is replacing the AVRI's.

This news sounds both disheartening and encouraging. Disheartening because I heard that that was such a nice bass, though I never got to try it out for myself. Encouraging because I'm taking from this news that the new models are going to be released sooner than later.

I have one question. Does vintage series offer HSS strat models or only single coil ones?
I think Fender done major job offering HSS guitars because of the combination of various sounds :)

Hi lukehion,
Well. its a bit tricky here on the answer because we're talking about "series". To the best of my knowledge, you won't find HSS's in the American Vintage Series, since they stay as true as possible to the original models produced in the year referenced. Although I don't believe that we currently have any HSS's in the Vintage Hot Rod Series....the series name certainly leaves room for it. We do have them in the American Deluxe area though. Sooo....Single Coils Pickups on the Vintage Series Strats.

Hope that helps a bit,
rob

Anyone own a '52 or '58 AV Tele? I'm in the store (again) trying to decide between these two and there's so much hum and noise I can't pick either. I know though this is a hostile electrical environment but I can hardly find a place where either gets quiet.
