Actually, there are. With proper knowhow you can replicate any circuit you want. This guy did a *pretty* good Jimmy Page:

I guess the $4k Les Paul doesn't hurt, either.

Well there you go then, I guess if you have the cash, you can get a magic pedal, however I do think you gotta be able to play it!

2 words buddy, tube-screamer. In particular, you want the ts-808 reissue. has the vintage JRC chip which, through a tube amp produces a creamy natural overdrive even with the overdrive knob on 0 (so long as the level is cranked) Its no wonder guys like John and SRV have relied on this overdrive to shape their sound.
you can pick them up from most online stores for around $160-$200. Worth every cent

....Or, if you have electronic skills and handy with a soldering iron, you can go to BYOC (Build Your Own Clone) and make your own pedal.

Check out the BYOC Classic Overdrive (TS-808).
http://www.buildyourownclone.com/overdrive.html

It's absolutely identical to the Ibanez Tube Screamer, but just housed in a different stompbox. You can be proud of yourself that you built it yourself. Also, if you don't like the so called "midrange hump" tone out of it, there are dozens of "mod" kits that you can also do. Swap out the .047u capacitor, with maybe a .22u or something like that.

I built the BYOC Classic Overdrive, and it's really cool. It sounds great and has the classic tone that we have all heard before. It adds just enough crunch to your sound without getting all nasty and vicious.

I can appreciate it when people try, but when somebody invents the "magic" pedal that makes you sound like your ultimate guitar hero let me know. Building your tone is about not only your gear, but about how you play and the emotion you put into it. I wish it were as easy as many want it to be, but sorry folks, there is no magic Mayer pedal, or a magic Gilmour pedal, claton, beck, etc...etc. If your on a budget and can't afford a pedalboard full of pedals, you should look into a multi effect as a start. There are plenty of them outthere, I can't give too much advice on multi digital effects, as I have all analog pedals.

My Boss GT-6 can make a whole bunch of effects and model a lot of amps very nicely. I would put money on it against analog on a blind test. And the GT-6 is old technology, the newer stuff like the GT-10 or axe fx should be much better. Digital modeling is not the crappy stuff from 15 years ago anymore.

But if the op wants to stick to analog, then a Zendrive, chorus and delay should do the trick.

I own both the Fulltone Plimsoul and OCD Pedals. They both are very good for different reasons. Just about any of the Keeley pedals would work too! Those are the only ones I hear about that get me really excited anymore beyond the Fulltones.

I find the Way Huge Green Rhino overdrive pedal to be the best that I've tried yet and for sure the most versatile, as you can get anything from a clean volume boost to a snarling, roaring distortion and just about any tone in between. It also has an infinitely adjustable tone section too that gives you the most razor sharp trebles to the mellowest, softest bass tones.

I had a GT-10, was a rocketship for sure, but for my needs I like my analog boxes. I just didn't have the time or patience for the Gt-10 to make all the patches I needed for my sound. It was nice though to practice with headphones on. I'll agree the technology has gotten a lot better. If you had the time, and got really good at programming your patches, the Gt-10 is a very nice machine.
