I've been unhappy with the setup on my Strat for quite a while. Decided to make my own adjustments. Very satisfied with the results...at last no fret buzz. This morning I was banging away hard, covering "19th Nervous Breakdown", and the fret buzz is back. Yuk. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Thanks....Bob

Check your neck relief.

Make another quarter-turn to the truss rod . After it's done it needs some time to settle. That was probably what happened the last time. Good luck with that :)

I see Arnold L is suggesting something like that  I am just more eager

neck relief = the bow of the neck. thats what the truss rod adjustment is for.

Which way did you turn the nut? It sounds like the neck was too straight, so you turned counter clockwise. I recommend changing string gauge before a neck adjustment. Try a heavier gauge. If you're using 13's(the heaviest), then check the frets to see if they're all level. If they are, turn the truss rod counter clockwise..SLOWLY. *I think a quarter turn at a time is too much. Ease into it.

Since you've already adjusted the neck, I'd just check the fret level...try some heavier strings. It sounds like more of a convex bow, possible fret thing, though.

I recommend changing the strings one at a time.

+2 on the vids. Very nice info.

Haven't seen anything in a while from him though.
