I know this is not a Fender related question, but does anyone on here use the RC-3 and know if it will operate using only the PS-1 power supply with the battery removed. I just picked up one of these and cannot find anything on the net to answer this question and the owners manual doesn't say. :?:

Hi S Bender,

you are fine to use the PS-1 power supply. I have an RC-2, it is an excellent practice tool.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the response, but I guess I didn't make myself clear. I have other
Boss pedals that I run on the PS power supply and leave the battery out as I don't like to leave battries in as they run down and if not removed, leak and cause corrosion. Those pedals work fine with no battery installed and I just wonder if the
RC-3 will work without the battery installed without causing damage to the unit. :?

It's fine without the battery in it. If you like, you could check the current draw of the pedal (in mA, or milliamps), and compare it to what the power supply offers. This is something worth paying attention to if powering multiple pedals with something like a daisy chain.

Toronado, thanks again. I solved my problem and it was just a stupid error on my part. The RC-3 Looper has sterio in and sterio out plugs and one of the out plugs is an on off switch. I removed the battery right after purchasing the unit plugged it back up and it didn't turn on. I think I must have been using the wrong out-send jack and not switching it on. Anyway thanks, I guess I'll just chalk that one up to my carelessness.

Anytime S Bender! I've actually done the same thing myself. But the foul-ups are always worth finally getting to use it.

All the best, sir.
