A Glock is not the best gun for shooting rabbits.

+1 A bit overkill . Pun intended...

You want a rifle not a handgun. Get a nice Ruger .177 air rifle for rabbits and small critters.

BTW..all this talk of impending disaster reminds me of the Y2K fiasco, years ago. "The demise of civilization as we know it..." was preached. We're still here.
Yes, we have Justa Beaver and Lady Gag-me, so a case could be made for the decline of civilization, but that's a different conversation.

As badly as you play, a guitar is the only weapon you need.

You're too immature to handle a firearm.

Get a life and some lessons instead of another axe, Gossamer.

Neither. Get a 1911. Or simply buy a late 70's P bass. You hit someone with one of those and they aren't getting up. Ever. :D

I love youtube.

You'd change your tune if you had someone rushing you with a blade or bayonet. That's all I can tell you. You may love Youtube, but experience tells me to stick with the 1911.

the glock frame can handle insane amounts of pressure. trust me, i'm not loyal to any brand except S&W. i like all firearms. i'd suggest an AR15 before the ban goes into effect again. i think it will stick this time. glad i made my big purchases a long time ago.

Is this a regular occurrance????

Raging paranoia maybe. Seriously scary and disturbing this is. I am very very glad that people here don't use guns to settle things and that they are illegal. Mostly just a pair of fists but usually alcohol is involved.

One of our friends blew his leg off with a shotgun thinking someone was trying to break in his home. When I was in high school I belonged to the school's shooting team. A couple of years later I got to shoot whatever weapon I wanted, whenever I wanted in Viet Nam. That was enough guns for me. Of course buy another guitar, or better yet, save for retirement. It's looking like we might be on our own.

The thing is, I AM doing retirement planning and trying to figure out the best way to do it. Many predict that BULLETS will be a good form of currency in the future. And I'm not talking about anything inappropriately violent towards other humans. People will need bullets (some predict) to shoot bunny rabbits and squirrels for food.

So I'm thinking of getting a Glock 23 gen 4 and then stockpiling ammo, just in case. For the price of an american standard tele, I can get one gun and about 1,000 decent bullets.

If the paper money system collapses, durable goods (such as guitars) will be the new "money."

I'm sure people get stabbed and robbed everyday in your country. I'm glad that you're happy that people don't use guns to defend themselves from criminals where you are from. I'm sure they much prefer to be a victim.

The problem with people being allowed to have guns to defend themselves, is that it means the people doing the attack also have access to guns.

Plus in that situation there are many people who don't know how to properly use the gun, or how to handle the adrenalin and way the body reacts. In the U.S.A there were about 13,000 murders in 2010, of which almost 9,000 involved firearms. I'm not saying you don't deserve the right to defend yourself but guns cause far more problems than they solve.

I really find it incomprehensible that such a prominent modern country gives its citizens such easy access to guns.

I would go for another guitar. It's really no question in my eyes. Buy an instrument, capable of creating beautiful music or buy a hunk of metal capable of, and designed for, ending the life of another human being.

You do realize that there are plenty of other countries which don't allow their citizens access to guns, yet their citizens are routinely harmed by gun violence. Much of it at the hands of their own government.

Saying that passing a law that bans guns will stop a criminal from owning a gun is about as true as saying passing a law making pot illegal will stop people from smoking pot. Criminalizing an inanimate object does nothing but ensure that only law abiding citizens will not have access to the object.

Criminals don't care if guns are illegal. Also, you dodge the point of people getting stabbed and robbed. Even making access to guns more difficult doesn't stop violent crime. It simply does four things. First, it changes the instruments used to commit the most spontaneous of crimes. Two, it ensures that only the most violent of criminals control the movement and supply of guns. Three, it ensures that those without criminal access join the military or police force to gain access. Lastly, it ensures that those they terrorize are inadequately able to defend themselves.
