i know ppl do these things all the time with "fender vs. gibson" and the muc loathed "fender vs. ibanez" but know these two brands are both good guitars. i would say both are equal but i'm planning on getting a schecter c-1 plus.

I owned a Schecter C1-EA and although it was decent guitar I would still pick a Fender over it anyday.

Tried a schecter and I liked the feel of it, but I would still pick a fender anyday.

I agree, Flamekaster... I'm new to the guitar scene, and it seems simply that different brands and different models have different sounds. I picked the Strat because I like it's sound. Does that make it "better" than Schecter or Gibson or whatever... probably not. Fender is best at producing a Fender Sound, Schecter is best at producing a Schecter sound.

It's kinda like: "What's better, a Ferrari or a Dodge pickup truck?" It all depends on what you're gonna use it for.

You and me both! Now what they need to do is build a Ferrari pickup truck... and make it a "Mario Andretti Signature Series", so I'll be able to drive exactly like him. THEN I'll have everything.

Very well put Ziggy. I originally got my strat for classic and alternative rock and a little bit of punk. Now I am getting the schecter because I want something that will have a better sound for metal, and Schecter delivers just that (I am not saying metal can't be done on a strat, I mean just look at Iron Maiden, but there are definitely other brands out there more suited for it)

Hey now, I have a Dodge truck also, and will have my Ferrari when I become a rock star bassist or win the lotto.
How about a Fender and Dodge Truck club? 8)

I like both but i would have to go with schecter. i have a vintage schecter strategy from the 90's. It has great sound and lots of options. I like fender too but schecter overules it.
