I aways buy bulk. I use a new set every show. That's 8 - 12 sets a month. Too expensive to go any other way.

Yeah, I have no reason to buy per pack when I just use the same kind whenever I put strings on. I always go with the deal of buying bulk.

i buy singles... my local store guy is nice, i'll talk for a while and he'll give me them cheaper.... i don't change them very often anyways so i don't need too many... when i do need more, thats just another excuse for me to go to the guitar store and try out some new guitars :)

I got turned onto Deal Markley's Blue Steels over this past Christmas when I got a stool if I bought 5 packs or more. The stool is great and I love the strings. Use them on my Fenders and Martins. I am waiting for the next premium before buying more in bulk.

I know m local guitar store pretty good and the employees so they cut me some slack.. so sometimes prices are just mere numbers :p
But I buy d'addarrio strings they feel right! and when kept well lubricated  they'll last you a while :p
