Also wouldn't mind picking up a copy of "Martian's Galactic Guide to Guitars".

Like the Guitar Player Repair Guide, but six times bigger and ten times more useful. Put me down for three copies. 8)

Hehehe!

I too imagine it would be one seriously BIG book. Probably take me several light years to finish reading it! :D

Andy

BTW: Rutlands Precision Drill Guide looks nice... might have to me one of those.

Hi Cool9!

Ceri's superb instructions for both 2 point and 6 screw bridge installation is by far the best in terms of writen and visual content. Much better than anything I've found on both the web and in the guitar building books I own....

In most cases, Google is your friend, but for bridge installation, Ceri is. Trust me, there's no better instructions out there. :D

Very good thread and nice cat.

Enjoy!

The first one I pictured is the Dakota Precision Drill Guide. It is pretty pricy from Rutlands, at £49 - though much cheaper than a drill press big enough to do guitar bridges, of course.

The second one is a Japanese made model, also available from Rutlands. It looks really good - and it costs £130! Great Scott, that's pushing it a bit!

I didn't win the £148m / $232m Euromillions jackpot this week, so I might not be buying that one...

Cheers - C

Thanks Ceri. That's how I planned to align the neck/bridge to begin with: I lined the outside of the neck up with the bridge. The top of frets had me a little worried because they were higher than the average height of the saddles. My neck is 1" thick (to fretboard crown) and neck pocket is 5/8" deep so I suppose I'll reach the correct action with this setup since the vertical body/neck dimensions check out OK. I'll post photos when I finish.

This Mighty Mite compound radius neck is very high quality with nice fast finish and fantastic fret job. I like it as much (if not more) than my HWY One (minus the cumbersome jumbo frets).

This is slightly blemished (cracked then epoxied) black walnut body I got for a great deal.
