I have found some great bargains in top shelf old stereo gear in pawn shops, buy and sell magazine and local Kijiji ads.I picked up a like new set of fabulous JVC tower speakers for only $50 and they were easily over $400 a pair when new.I got a near mint Pioneer 200 CD player for just $40 and a state of the art Toshiba cassette deck for just $40 too. This digital boom and the fact that most people are going to digital format for their music is a real boon for us few analogue guys.Although my old Hitachi turntable is still functioning really well,I'm keeping my eyes open for an old Dual or Pioneer turntable with the built in strobe to guarantee accuracy and maybe even a Marantz amp or tuner/amplifier-they've been going on sale pretty regularly lately for laughably low prices.

I wonder if I could find some old Macintosh gear reasonably priced?!

My boy (age 15) recently expressed an interest in vinyl. So, I pulled out the turntable and a giant Tupperware box of records. He loved it. He went for the Jimi Hendrix records first.
