Who here is in a band for the work but plays and practices completely different stuff when you're home?

The band I gig with to make money on the side plays rock. A mix of covers from every decade from the 50's to modern rock n pop. I rarely brush up on any of it. When I do sit down and play on my own time I usually play things like classic Country, RnB, Blues, Reggae or Folk tunes. Things I'd never get a chance to play in this band, but that teach me things I can bring back to other genres. Basically just playing music I enjoy that I don't get the chance to gig. It allows me to learn from bassists who know how to work in a different type of arrangement. It's very educational and a lot of fun.

Fortunately it's been ok. I dig hard rock and blues but the band I'm currently gigging with jams country. I've been getting better at chicken picking and sweet country style licks.
