Hello all,

I'm curious to know if the Classic Player Jaguar with single coils and the one with H/H setup share the same body. That is, if I were to purchase a H/H version, could I easily change it into a single coil version if I have the right pickups and pickguard? Or, do they use exclusive bodies that won't allow for a change in pickup types?

Has anyone ever done this before with the Classic Player Jaguars?
The '62 RI is definitely out of my budget, and I would like to have that wiggle room in terms of pickups.

Thanks!

I don't know if the two classic player models have the same routing, but you could fit single coils into the routing of the HH model without much fuss.

Welcome to the Forum BC9153. One of the resident guitar guru's might have a answer for you, an e-mail to Fender customer service might work as well. Let us know how things work out.

Hmm... for strats, I wouldn't doubt it. But aren't Jag single coils a little longer than normal single coils and humbuckers?

Thank you for the welcoming comment! I used to come here quite often under a different name, but that account seems to have been... inactivated? Couldn't log on with that one, so had to make a new account.
I've emailed consumer relations, although I'm not sure if that's the right place to go to.
I'll make sure to post once the answer is back!

It's been such a long time since I didn't get to sit down with a guitar...
I forgot the word 'routing' and had to use the awkward "body cavity"

If you're looking for versatility in a Jaguar, you might want to take a look at the Jaguarillo - HSS configuration in a CP Jaguar body...

The coil splitting option of the CP H/H model seems really appealing to me though...

So I've just received the response from consumer relations.

Neither CP Jaguar HH to CP Jaguar single coil nor the reverse is possible because the routings are different. :?
