I have 2 favorite chorus pedals as I mentioned in your other thread.

My all time favorite chorus is the Zoom 5050 Choir and the second fave is the Visual Sound H2O.

They both have a lush chorus effect and a delay effect. The Zoom Choir also has a setting that includes reverb.

Sadly both these pedals are now discontinued but Visual Sound does make the Liquid Chorus which is the same circuit as the H2O without the analog Delay. Luckly in the last year I've managed to find both these pedals on the used market at a steal of a deal. If I ever decided to sell them, I could easily triple my money.

None. I dislike chorus immensely.

However, on the rare occasions when chorus is required and unavoidable (usually at the request/insistence of another band member) I use the "Slow" setting on my Boss RT20 Rotary Ensemble.

I used to have a Fulltone CF-1 but, sold it...VERY nice pedal but I was getting sick of all the cables and AC adapters and just didn't want to invest in a pedal board so I traded em all in for the Line 6 M-13. My point here is you really should check out the Line 6 M5 (it's a single effect unit, the M13 is up to 4 effects and may be overkill for what you need)...it does a fantastic job of modeling some of the best chorus pedals out there (as well as some other great effects), in addition to a Uni-vibe and Rotary Speaker (ie Leslie cabinet) type modulations...it is literally a Swiss Army effects box...I can't say enough good things about it!

I hardly need to use one, but I switch between a Boss
and Korg device when needed.

Discontinued but still available used. Not a regular chorus but a very useful and subtle effect.

Strymon Ola
Not much out there that beats this.

I'm in love with my tc electronics Dreamscape pedal!

Image

The funny thing is: it is not very noticeable in chorus mode. That's what I love so much about it. You hardly notice when it's on but you miss a lot when it's off!
Absolutely great pedal!! Very discreet but when you switch it off it's like playing your stereo HiFi system in mono.

I'm with Screamin' Armadillo on this...

I think everyone had a chorus pedal back in the day. It was the one pedal that has been played to death in so many genre's of music. I refuse to add one in my pedal board.

I fully understand, even though I LOVE chorus! I feel the same about tubescreamers what you feel about chorusses.
I'll NEVER add a tubescreamer to my board!

I have a an old late '80s or early '90s BOSS CE-2 Stereo Chorus which isn't really stereo. The outputs are wet and dry.

Also, I have an old Dunlop Uni-Vibe Stereo Chorus with chorus on the left, vibrato on the right. Interesting.

I don't use it often, but the Maxon Chorus Pedal I got was cheap and has great tones in it.

As for those that hate Chorus' and tube screamers...yeah they have been overused at times, but the same thing happened in the late sixties/early seventies with the wah wah pedal. After Clapton, then Hendrix used it very well, everyone started using one and it went out of style, time passed...then Slash used one to very good effect and it came back in style.

People got tired of Delay pedals too, especially after Jimmy Page began using one on Everything, the same thing happened. Not throwing stones here it just goes in cycles where someone famous uses it well, then everyone jumps on the band wagon, and we tire of it's overuse. Stuff happens...

Another big dislike of chorus. Though I do have a very exclusive chorus pedal. It just makes the guitar sound weak. I've never heard an example of the effect that I like. Even Hen-Tricks and the Univibe causes me to turn off.

These have never been on sale, and aren't going to go on sale, apparently.

^What he said...

I started playing guitar in 1989, when every hairsprayed, makeup-wearing douchebag was slathering chorus and digital delay on their signal like it would drive away werewolves.

I disliked shred before it became fashionable to dislike shred.

Thus, I generally dislike chorus and digital delay.

Screamin' Armadillo for President! 8)

I totally agree... I know what you mean with digital delay. Why on earth would I want to sound like "The Edge" and have about 6 or 7 digital delay pedals mixed into an effects loop? ...No thanks.

I do appreciate the old school style of analog delay set to a very mild, very subtle, type of rockabilly slapback. That works well and sounds good.

But again... Chorus? Um, no. No thank you...
