I know it's not Fender, but I have to say that Metallica's 'Load' and 'Reload' albums and Megadeth's 'Risk' were major dissapointment follow-ups to The Black Album and Cryptic Writings.

The 3rd and final Ben Folds Five album "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner" except for the song "Army".

Also the two "modern" Steely Dan albums I agree are lame (and I LOVE SD). The drum parts are so dead and dull they drag down even what could be decent song. I want to scream "Try hitting a cymbol once and a while". It sounds like a cheesy drum machine sample rock beat the whole time.

Kevin Federline's debut album. I was a expecting a rap artist that would rival the Wu Tang Clan, Ghostface, and Jay Z. I was so disappointed. I was expecting so much out of Kevin Federline. He had so much promise and now I don't know. :P

No offense foshastjones, but this is the FENDER site- where rock n' roll all began and you are talking about Kevin Federline. I really wonder what people listen to these days

Yeah, I know it's pretty bad but to get back to rock. The most disappointing album I've heard recently is any Pink Floyd release after the wall. Those albums are so 80's and cheesed out. I don't even know what Pink Floyd was trying to do.

I genuinely gave that album a chance(s) but it is just not likable. Whatever Pink Floyd was trying to do on the album to "mix it up" the album just came off as bloated and bland.

That's funny, because 9 out of 10 Pink Floyd fans regard it as highly as Wish You Were Here, The Wall and Dark Side Of The Moon.

I guess I'm that 1 out of 10 guy then. Those three albums you mentioned are all classics though.

While we are talking Floyd......
Political themes aside, The Final Cut is a great album.
A Momentary Lapse of Reason is "alright".
The Division Bell is often "under-appreciated". Some great stuff on there.

As far as most disappointing album, I think/feel that each new album that an artist/group releases is a new interpretation/feeling of their music. It's hard to explain into words what I'm trying to say. Oh well.
