I am near completion of upgrading my MIM's.

My Black/Maple MIM shed its old neck for a new MIA Rosewood and solid black Warmoth Pickguard and aged white knobs and covers. I have yet to wire a set of overwound SSS for replacements of the old MIM ceramic pups.

The Lake Placid Blue MIM body was a direct purchase from EBAY "Stratosphere store"and the new MIA maple neck is also. The guard is Warmoth cut item and the pickups set are from a Fender Blacktop. I replaced those huge black knobs found on the Blacktops with smaller one, more pleasing to my eye.

Question: With overwound single coils do I stay with 250K pots or move to 500K?

They look great!!! I especially love the chrome buckers in the LPB. WOW, does that look sharp!

LOVE the Stratosphere. Built my Franken P out of a CIJ 62RI, a MIM body and a set of US AVS 62RI P pups with wiring harness. It sounds and plays incredible for a LOT less money then the real deal.

They both look cool!
I like the blue one a little better because you don't see chrome pickups on Strats as often as all the other ones.
I just completed a similar project myself.

I have the same humbuckers on my Blacktop Tele....I LIKE the sound of em...You don't? I'm just not sure if putting in hotter humbuckers would destroy the feel of the guitar or not. The one thing I like about the Blacktop humbuckers is that they are a higher output, quieter, and yet, still sound like a Fender Guitar.

Oh I like the ones I have on my Strat Blacktop just fine. I like them so much so that I bought the set on the LPB guitar assembled from Stratosphere.
