@Brad

Did the Wide Range humbuckers employ CuNiFe magnets?

The product's page claims the humbuckers "redesigned and re-voiced to sound even more like 1970s pickups."

Brad - I hope this means an AM Vintage FSR 72 Deluxe (Lacquer) is on the way in Olympic White, Natural, and Black. 9.5" Radius w/ Medium Jumbos or 6105. You guys did a bunch for Yamano years ago...please bring these to us...I'm grabbing one of the thinlines in BLACK soon =) Hopeful...Hopeful for the 72 Deluxe...

PS.
Chromeface - Cunife is extremely hard to source these days...I'd go to The Creamery in Manchester, UK for their take on a WR HB...looks promising and might be a candidate for this AM Vintage Thinline...The Fender ones have simply been upgraded in the past year or two but I highly doubt they use threaded magnets, cunife etc like the originals...

+1!

Fender has already dealt an effort to revoice their Wide Range humbuckers like the 70's originals for the now-discontinued Sonic Youth signature Jazzmasters.

FYI Telenator makes WR-style humbuckers with CuNiFe magnets.

Hello!
I love the Factory Special Run American Vintage '72 Tele® Thinline!! I have 2 questions:

1) Im very interested in this guitar, but "Factory Special Run" means it will be difficult to pre-order, or purchase one?
2) Please, could you tell me the price of this precious guitar?

Thank you!

Nice "copies", but it's far better to have the real thing, my Real Vintage 72 Thin Line.

The fact is, the Fender re-issue Telecasters are far better instruments than the ones I had owned or played during the 70s. The fit, finish, and overall craftsmanship are in my opinion superior to the vintage models they represent.

The re-issues do fall short in the pickup department though. Very dull sounding.

If you look at it from the context of, "A re-issue guitar is better than a vintage one, and you invest in a good set of pickups, you'll have a superior guitar, (in my opinion), for half the price of an original."

Oh man, both re-issue and original are cool looking guitars. I could certainly plump for either of those.

By the way, vintageguitarz, I'm guessing your '72 has had a refret or two over the years? It didn't come with those fat frets back in those days, did it? Whatever: love that brown finish. 8)

Cheers - C
