well, it may be in fenders interests to have a user assisted administrative structure.
back when I played Ultima Online, the Actual moderators would select upstanding members as deputy's in a way. it would allow them to have limited control over the message boards. I am sure there are several well respected users here that would be happy to assist while visiting. much like online games, you have GM's "Game masters" and under each game master is several 'Admins" to assist in the duty's.

Yes...that would definitely be one way of handling it. I do think some sort of control is needed to keep this one of the best forums on the net.
Have a good one my friend!!

I perceive that Brad has his hands full with other duties, incrementally assigned to him after being designated the sole moderator here. Surely, whatever his production quotas are at FMIC, they will not be met if he allocates significant portions of his time to babysitting here. Besides and on face value, I don't think the FMIC "Suits" would condone it even if he could. Unfortunately, it is the churls of late and not Brad's priorities who certainly are the cause of the malady.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.

I take no offense, as I police myself fairly well........But I hear where you're coming from.
Point taken.

I think the members who have been here for a few years do a good job of policing and this is why at certain points....Enough is Enough.
I don't know how many reported Corpseknot but I would guess quite a few.
His thread was locked and the other offensive one completely deleted...

I have not noticed shyness from members in voicing to anyone that they have gone too far.
Actually this Forum is quite liberal in that it is left up to us to self monitor and I would guess Brad is more up to speed than it appears, just because he doesn't step in until need warrants intervention does not mean he is absent.

I appreciate the freedom to bring on various topics which are not going to have everyone in agreement but that is what a Forum is about in it's truest definition....

I think some self-policing by all of us and calling out perpetrators as you come upon it will be enough.

I know I've called out a couple and it seems to quiet things down. If not, then get Brad's involvement.

My 2 pesos...

I don't mind the drama, adds excitement to the forum. Most the time I hop on here it's the same thing over and over again, it get's boring. I look forward to a little controversy it's entertaining.

Well i called one out on ignorant and vile comments he made about poor and impoverished people. He said they "were born poor and remain poor because they're lazy and don't want to work." Basically he demeaned every poor person or family in an impoverished state and slated them all in one fell swoop. Not only that; that statement is a downright lie, there are stacks of people who, through working in low paid jobs, are impoverished even though they work!

Not only was nothing said about his ignorant statement, we even had someone else in essence agreeing with him and backing him up by insisting he had done nothing to apologise for.

This brings the sensible person to a couple of conclusions:

1. That many on this forum are totally insensitive to the plight of others less well off than themselves and the only thing that worries them is how many guitars and amps they own.

2. That they're alright with demeaning a group of people when they're not affected by it and they believe it's ok to do it and nothing will be said about it.

So if we're going to mind our P's and Q's let's make sure we do it properly and people who utter such inflammatory rubbish are either banned or made to issue a public apology on the board stating that what they said was an error of judgement and they wish to retract it.

You really need to let it go already. This is the kinda attitude that causes issues here. You stated you opinion and we understand what you have said. So take elsewhere now.

When I read something on this forum that I think is stupid ,perhaps a personal meaning from a person-in one direction or the other- I just go on to another post or thread , without worrying too much about what I just read. My reason for being here is learning about music and instruments/amps. Sometimes I even share of the knowledge I have about some subjects . I know what I mean about a lot of ''idiotic'' statements here , I'm grown-up enough to know. Because of that , I don't care about such things. I'm not on this forum to save the world. Think that's for another forum.....

Not exactly struggling then are you? I'll take that i can add you on to the list that agrees with his statement then?

So answer this question: do you think it's ok for someone on a forum like this to demonise and slag off a whole group of people at a stroke, many of whom are impoverished due to no fault of their own?

If you think it's ok then that's fine, it says everything about you morally that anyone would need to know.

Answer the question yes or no.
