If you were to haggle you'd pay $1350ish in Australia....... Only since the world went E Global bonkers in the last years...... Other wise our retailers would have been going for another $400 +... And they wonder why 50% of them went broke.... :roll:

id suggest to keep it easy, the guitar we should price up is a 2012 American standard strat, black with maple fingerboard. should be easy enough to find.

also, as we all know the US will get them cheapest, convert your countries price to $ for comparison.

cheapest i can find is 1,012 GBP in the UK = $1587.84

I just cheked the one with rosewood fretboart cost the same, so we can do this with any of those strats.

Yeah, but if I buy a guitar it will be at list price, dealers don't. That is the way they make profits, they get special discounts.

My example was made at regular prices.

That's okay. Most of us can't afford to buy a decent American made Fender anymore, either. The going rate on the AVS is STEEP to be kind. Welcome to the club.

I'M shocked at the prices in chile,for a strat.do you have something like craigslist in your country?if you do,look every day for used strats.it can take months to find a deal,but when you find one you score big time.i just bought a mexi fat strat of craigslist for one hundred dollars.i look every day,sometimes twice a day.good luck on your search.

They probably want to make even more profit?
I assume, Fenders are rare in Chile? The rarer they are, the more a dealer can ask for.

Not rare, I think they try to get too much profits selling this guitars. I'm sure Fenders should not cost that much here, specially compare to Gibson.
