So I started a new band and we have a couple recordings. But when people ask me what genre I get pretty stumped on what to say. I can't think of someone we sound like but Mabel its just me. Please give my recordings a listen and tell me what or who it reminds you of. You can find them at WWW.onesheet.com/inlet thanks in advance

Dinosaur Jr.? Cage the Elephant? Wolf Parade? Sublime?

Any of those styles I'd put a few cents into.

Wow interesting. Sublime is one of my favorite bands I didn't think it showed much within this band. Thank you for your time and feedback. If you like it we are posting a couple new ones this week hopefully

Cage the Elephant is an interesting one. The two bands that came into my head are Sparklehorse and The Unicorns, so you could probably fit under the indie/alternative umbrella.

Thank you guys very much. As for the singing I am doing the back up vox and lead guitar for these two particular songs. But the new ones coming up will have me on lead vocals

I listened to Skydown. I like it, it reminds me of a cross between Pearl Jam, Twin Atlantic and Brand New. (All bands which I really like, by the way).

Your singer sounds like he could do with learning a few warm ups and breathing exercises, he sounds a little strained in parts. There's lots of that kind of thing on Youtube and it can give massive improvement with very little effort.
