He's not allowed to stop touring until I've seen him at least once. He still seems healthy enough and happy enough to do it, so I don't see why he would stop.

Yes- it's about time. I would be very happy to see him live , but not in the condition he has appeared lately. Sir Paul-make a turn in your life-grow more vegetables and sing to your grandchildren . Enjoy your money, family and friends  Release a record now and then.........

i saw sir paul live 20 years ago, and he was great. over the last several years, his voice doesn't have it anymore.

not a slam- he gave us many years of great music, but maybe it's time to take it easy

His performance at the opening ceremony was bad, very bad, and embarrassing too :(

Unless it was my TV, he was all out of time and missed cues. A shambles it sounded.

Arctic Monkeys sounded good though 8)

Personally, I think he's too addicted to money and the glory. Further, even if his concerts do bomb, let's face it, he'll always be given plenty of leeway due to him having been in, what's the name of that 60's band again?

And then there's the Rolling Stones...

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.

I believe McCartney was choked up with emotion causing him to have a little trouble with the first line or two. But, other than that, he did fine.

I saw Elton John about 10 years back and it was very disappointing. The man couldn't sing a note outside of about an octave of range or so and even that was weak and limp and powerless. Everyone I talked to about it later said, "yah, but you got to see Elton John.." and I was like, "No, not really ..."

Sometimes when it's gone it's just gone.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Unbelievable. Did you ever think he keeps doing it because he loves it.

Keep trucking Paul.

Seriously , guys- I don't think Paul have ANY problems with out of time etc. But if you were listening that night - it sounded like the sound going out on the stadium were several seconds delayed ! That doesn't really make it easy ! I think he handled that part of it good. 8)

Playing on that stage had to be tough. There had to be issues with sound, communication, etc. Actually, I missed it because the Pirates were on and I made the ultimate committment to follow, and support them, this year.

Really wasn't all that bad.

Yes, that's right. People who were there are saying there wasn't a problem inside the stadium. On TV there seemed to be a brief mix up in audio feeds: the direct signal from the stage was getting mixed with an open mic somewhere far away for about 20 seconds. In the TV control room someone will have been diving for a slider and a couple of lines in it was fixed. As technical hitches go it ain't a biggie.

Far as Macca himself is concerned: people I know who've seen him within the last year, as well as some on this Forum, say he's still putting on a kicking live show. Having finally got to see Paul Simon a couple of weeks ago McCartney is the last on my "giants" list I'm still awaiting to collect. So, like Tochai, I hope he keeps going till I've seen him!

Also, I love that he has attained Living National Treasure status and is always automatically wheeled out on these occasions to make us feel good about ourselves. Mick Jagger must be quietly cursing in a dark corner everytime it happens, cos it ain't him.

Worth it for that alone! :D

Cheers - C

I watched a couple of minutes of this link , and it sounded WAY better - I guess this is as Macca performed it without having to hear those squeaks and echoes ! Great performance, actually :D
