He has to be the hardest working musician there is. But then, heas has to be to afford all the guitars he buys. :D

We also saw him years ago when he opened for BB King at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. :D

Truthfully, I preferred his playing and tone when he played a Strat. IMO his Gibson guitars are not as good.

Guitar Player magazine's new issue has an interview with him. He has gone to the dark side. He likes the LP's and other Gibson's way better. As much as I love my 72 Strat, I like my LP 60's Tribute better. It has P-90's. Something about the power of those P-90's that make that guitar sound great. Seems tome that lately all the Strst tones are really similar. I think people are cheating themselves chasing SRV's tone. The Strat is capable of so much more.

For what he has in his stable, I think you'll see him playing Les Paul's the majority of the time.

He can make them sing.

I have his Royal Albert Hall and Beacon Theater Blu-Rays. Love 'em both.

He's an amazing talent and humble too. He used to do the Blues in Schools or something like that. He seems like he appreciates his success. In the GP interview, he said something about the hum and the midrange bump he has to employ with Strats and Teles and he said in some venues, Strats were unusable for him. Seems funny Strats always worked for Hendrix. He also stated although SRV was an influence on him, he wasn't the only influence on him and he didn't want people comparing his sound to SRV. So I think you won't be seeing him going back to Fender anytime soon. Plus Gibson has all kinds of Bonamassa sig guitars. It's a great interview, I subscribe to GP so I get the new issues pretty early.

His new CD, Driving Toward the Daylight, is excellent. I've been listening to it over and over for about 10 days. He'll be the MC at the Battle of the Blues that Rebecca will be competing at. We have tickets and am looking forward to seeing him again. At the end of the show, there will be a jam. Maybe Rebecca will get to partake!
