It really depends on the album. Something like Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon NEEDS to be listened to completely. There are albums that I'll skip through.

Depends on the album. If it's Leave Home, definitely the whole thing. Anything else is fair game.

I really only listen to music at home and its almost all on vinyl so I generally end up playing the whole albums. but in the car it all random MP3's so I guess it depends on where I am at,
but when I throw party's i end up standing at the turntable being dj so in those situations is random lol

can i take back my vote?

I still consider a cd or even itunes an album. To me an album is a collection of works, not the format.

Really.... :?: :?: I have surprisingly noticed that Vinyl pressings are on the rise for bands and their new releases..
I actually still have over 500 Vinyl LP's ranging from Silverhead to Segovia...

If I'm at home I listen to whole albums normally. If I'm out with my Ipod I tend to flip between songs. I normally pick about three songs to play on my phone if I'm taking a shower and I'm not in a hurry to be anywhere.

I never buy individual songs though.

I have noticed a slight rise in prices due to this :? vinyl is definitely coming back into popularity. I had a long talk with the guy that owns the record store I frequent, he said his sales have increased quite a bit this last year. this also raised the prices of some older turntables to. kinda makes me wish i did like some people and bought extra sealed copy's of all my alums  take for example my copy of the Nine Inch Nails album "fragile", it has gone through the roof  i have been tempted to sell it since i don't play it much.

Depends on the situation...Sitting at home or long car rides, I usually will listen to the full album. When I go for runs and use my iPod, it's usually mixes of various songs.

I still buy full albums on CD whenever I think they're worth getting. The problem is that so many new albums that come out now aren't really worth the money you pay for them. There's usually one or two good songs and the rest is filler. In those situations, I'll download the tracks that I like from iTunes and skip the rest.

When ever I would buy a new CD or album or cassette tape or 8 track tape I would listen to it entirely at least once. After that I'd agree with everyone that time and situation are considered. If at a party and it's your turn to DJ, the type of party, whether its a kegger with an open bar or low key cocktail soiree, if there is a good mix of boys and girls it is sometimes a good idea to go the album route. A good album with love songs will usually insure quality one on one time with the object of your affection,

 , I didn't mention the old 78rpm records because those albums were like a book with each record in a sleeve, two sides A&B, so when listening to the album it was more like listening to 20 singles with all of the record changing and flipping,

my first record was "Hound Dog" by Elvis but I liked the B-side just as much. I've always said that "I'm as old as the hills" and hills are comprised mostly of dirt so the shoe fits
