I guess the important thing I'm trying to get across is don't sell it right away.

Get it in the hands of a respected dealer who can verify what it is and work with you to sell it.

If Dave Rogers or George Gruhn or Norm Harris says it's a real nocaster that's gonna add $1000s to the value.

That's actually really pretty the way it is. If you had the original PG, HW, and PUs, that'd be even better, but for a body/neck, it's awesome looking.

Couple of issues I can see from the pictures.

I don't see any evidence of nail holes under the pickguard. But that's one reason someone would need it in hand. Evidence might be there that's not showing up in the photos.

There's an extra route and extra pickguard holes. But we knew the body has lead a rough life.

The neck has definitely been refinished. Not just over sprayed.

So you're missing the dates. Again, in hand, there might be evidence.

Case looks okay.

Pretty much the only things you're gonna get a date clue from are the bridge plate and pots. Can you post the serial number or one with a few xx's if you're not comfortable posting the whole thing? That way you'll know if the bridge plate is at least in the right date ballpark.

Looks very interesting. Get it in the hands of someone who can for sure say what you have. Without the neck and body dates you'll need a trusted source to say it's got the right look. Even with the dates you'd need an expert to verify it's right.

Since it's been torn apart no one is ever gonna be able to say how original it is. They can confirm if the parts are period correct but won't be able to say if they go with this guitar for sure. But if you've got an early bridge plate and pickups, and an expert can say the rest looks right for an early Fender it's gonna help.

It's about as bad as nocaster can get from the stand point of what a collector is gonna want. So don't expect the big dollars ones in better condition bring.

But....

If the right expert thinks it looks right someone is gonna want it. A player condition nocaster is still a nocaster. And you shouldn't have trouble selling it for still decent money.

Very cool. I think you'll have fun finding out about it from an expert.

Thanks for sharing!

Wondering what you guys thought about having Fender do the restoration? I'm in Memphis an only 3hrs from Nashville where I believe they have a factory.
