I don't like this kind of music that the OP is into but I have to admit that he put some good work into getting the lyrics to Rhyme, with some clever wording (even though very sordid), which painted a story that I could follow.

So aside from the actual content of the song, I would give props to the OP for his songwriting skill and effort.

On a side note - my condolences to the families of the recent tradgedy.

Ok so I haven't read all the posts in this thread, however I think I know whats going on;
Most of the old timers refuse to accept anything that wasn't around when they were growing up, they instantly label it garbage cause it takes a step away from what the're used to. As usual.
Again I apoligise if I've got the wrong concept, I couldn't be bothered going through 9 pages of posts, 60% of which are nothing but that troll attention seeking

Well, lemme just say, I don't like death metal, but thats just me. I can acknowledge why people would like it, for whatever reason that maybe, and I do accept it.
corpseknot; keep on writting man, your lyrics fit the intended style perfectly.

Speaking as an old timer (58) who loves many genres of music I know what I like and what I don't like and it has absolutely nothing to do with what I was listening to when I was growing up.The first time that I heard hard metal I was in my 20s-which isn't that old and I didn't like it from day one.The harder and louder metal gets, the more I dislike it. To my ears this thrash and death metal is far too distorted and dischordant for me to take a liking to.The guitars are tuned so low and so distorted, you can hardly tell what chords they're using. It has always been said that people use distortion and many other effects to cover shortcomings and mistakes with their playing,if such is the case then thrash metal players must be tone deaf.

I am as open minded as the next guy when it comes to music but when it comes to roaring uber-distorted and amplified guitars and gutteral grunts and moans in place of what should be vocals,it can only described as cacaphony. Most of the lyrics are undecypherable because the vocalists refuse to enunciate what they're "singing" and replace lyrics with the aforementioned grunts etc.The lyrics of some thrash and death metal look like the rantings of a psychopathic escapee from a maximum security prison.of course you wouldn't be able to pick out the lyrics without a copy of them in the liner notes.

I'm not dumping on the people who are fans of this type of music-if they like it-more power to them.I just for the life of me can't understand what attracts so many people to it as I see nothing redeeming in either the musical or lyrical content but to each his own as I'm sure that many people can't see what I see in classical music that attracts me to it so much.

+1 The young ones always make that same statement whenever an older person doesn't like what they like. Age has nothing to do with what older guys listen to period. That's total garbage. I know 50+ year old headbangers and death metal lovers. I know young many under 20 year old people who love Delta Blues as well as Metal. It all has to do with how well written something and the musician's playing skills. Do you young guys really think you have the market conered on this stuff?

It wasn't so much directly about age related to genera, it was more about people being offended by the lyrics due to the Colorado indecent. just so happened that those offended asking to close the thread tended to be much older than the OP.
then the age and genera bashing started

No you're still a kid because you're still a kid. None of those things make you a kid or an adult.

It's an age old catch-22.

When you become an adult you'll understand. Until then you won't. It was the same for all of us. You'll just have to trust me about how experience is what makes you an adult. But I know you won't, just like I didn't believe it when adults told me the same thing when I was a kid.

One piece of advice. When you do become an adult don't feel like you have to give up anything you love becuase it's "for kids". You'll have more fun as an adult that way.

It's not even the Colorado incident. The Lyrics are offensive and juvenile to boot. He has the right to write them no doubt just like I have the right to say what I think of them. The lyrics are meant to shock and draw a reaction. I wasn't shocked in the least. But apparently there's a bunch of kiddies that think it's cool. So be it. I've had my say, now I have to add some more nitwits to the foe list. That is the reaction.

Hopefully I'm one of the nitwits on your foe list, but if so I guess you won't see this!

I kind of think of it as wrong to stomp on this guy's feelings, though. I feel the lyrics he wrote would be much better if put to a horror movie, or a novel. But, he does have a talent for writing in detail about gore and other things.
