I've gotten close with some people via internet, through Runescape. I exchange letters and care packages with a Canadian friend and plan on visiting her in a year and a half or so. Through Runescape, I was invited to a pubcrawl with an ex-moderator who lives in the UK, and I'm sending off an old videogame to another Runescape friend in Wisconsin. Don't people normally exchange gifts via internet? I don't find it weird at all.

I did that back in the early 90's when I player Ultima Online, even then I was an adult though

Ahh, Ultima Online. I have vague memories of that and my grandpa playing it I think. Very fuzzy though, he was more of a MYST guy, and I still have his copy, which is in pristine condition.

Yea, but there was a struggling guitarist and the whole community came together and offered him support, myself included. Basically, his dad pawned all of his amps for some reason, and we all kind of offered what we could.

That's a bit of a generalisation. I go for the occasionall walk at like, 3 in the morning, sometimes to just sit on a fence and look at the moon or what not. An I'm fairly certain no one keeps an eye on me. Well, atleast I hope so
But yes, contradicting my above statement, most kid's are sissys these days. It's not their fault though, it's their parents.

I like how my mom always talks about how much fun she used to have and how I should go out more, but most of the time when I want to go out she tries to make me stay home because it's too dangerous. Apparently it's too dangerous for me to sit on my roof and take pictures of stars or nature, but she's now ok with me having a motorbike. Progress, I guess :?

Excatly right. My Mum is always freaked of where I am, like the other night I was at a party and she kept on texting me asking if I was ok every 10 minutes  Every time I say I'm gonna go for a walk by the river in the paddocks she always bombards me with these orders like 'Make sure you have your phone, dont go to far' etc. I just do it regardless though. Enough is enough dont you think?

Yes, I acknowledge that. The fact is, experiencing different things and getting hurt is a part of growing up, not staying indoors and getting a misprinted, filtered interprataion of the world.

I just don't understand that. I was at a concert on Friday and I told her that I was going to be 12:30 minimum and she was freaking out. I explained to her that I had to meet the band and all and she was still angry. I don't understand why she freaks out if I walk to my local 7-11, which is only a half mile from my house. Another thing, she got freaked out when I was going to pick up a client's computer last week. She was having a panic attack because I had to take the subway to get to this guy. The money I made in those couple hours still doesn't make up for her freakout.
