Does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks.

The best way, and legal too, is to invent something that is really, really useful. Once the world has beaten a path to your door, sell the idea to someone for a whole bunch of money, then start buying the stuff that you really want.

It's taken me a long time, but I have gotten to where you want to be. Nice house (kids are gone), special room just for my stuff, 67 guitars, 40 amps... and I'm still working and still gigging. I bought most of my guitars and amps with GIG money. Maybe that's where you should start. Get to practicing, start playing out, save your money.

Stop dreaming, start doing!

And you DO seem to spend a LOT of time on this Forum.....

i consider gig money like 'free money'. doesnt factor into everyday life, thasts what work is for. as long as your not 5 seconds from being broke. gigging is a luxury, it was literally 'money for nothing' to me, and as such could be spent on stuff i didnt need, like more kit.

Well, it was you who started this discussion and yes, you do appear to be bragging about your salary, so get a second job and do nothing with the money but buy guitars. :|

As far as the ex-wife and the kiddies, you just gotta pay your dues, man.

Become a young teenager with wealthy parents and start from there.

A few options:
1) Marry J-Lo.
2) Invent the computer. Ooops - too late on that one
3) Request government funding
4) Get adopted by Bruce Jenner

Suddenly this thread came along(?) -and all Violin Parents posts have disappeared. Does that mean that VP has quit ? Will all the postings then be deleted?
