there is something that has been bugging me that i would like some outside perspectives on.

I have noticed over the years a big increase in the lack of respect each generation has for other people. even more so in very densely populated areas (city's) I don't know exactly what is causing this but it is getting worse as time goes on. we could blame it on parenting, or maybe entertainment. but I think it has more to do with a lack of consequences. when I was younger a good fist fight was all you needed to solve a problem. now when you pop someone in the nose for being a disrespectful douche you get sued or arrested. even my nephew got punished in school for standing his ground against a bully and fighting back. its almost like the education system is conditioning the youth to shut up and take it.
people seem to have it in their head that they can do and say whatever they want because you cannot hit them without being punished for knocking their F@#*ing teeth in.

now here is what brought this all up.
me and my wife were at the grocery store minding our own business, then some loud obnoxious little punk literally nudges my wife to the side and cuts in line. WHO THE F%#$ DOES THAT! so sure enough I say something to the little Sh!#. and here is what he says
(" what are you going to do about it. if you touch me I will sue you!")
so sure enough I draw back to pop his little $@! and he cowers down like little girl and runs away, so i think cool its over. well we check out and on our way out we are greeted by this perfect example of the modern man and the police! WTF! apparently he called the police and said I Physically threatened him for no reason. so after all the explaining to the police
I GET A WARNING and the kid goes home thinking he is invincible. seriously! its not like he was a minor, they guy was at least 20+ yeas old!
am I wrong here? personally I feel that this is totally unacceptable. is this what is being taught to today's youth?

the current system as a whole is flawed badly and needs repair.

I think the best way to solve this is to bring back pistol dueling. we can have designated areas with precautions to prevent harm to spectators. and even use the old muzzle loader sets just like they did when respect was an important part of life.
something needs to be done or I will end up in prison

what would you have done?

I agree with you but this would lead into a political debate which I don,t want to have. It comes down to the lack of morals issue in this country. IMO.

Are you suggesting that the govenment controlled school systems are grooming youths to fit into society as passive sheep totally dependant on the government to think for them, protect them, and properly re-direct their income?
Huh, imagine that!!

I do believe that the learning of respect for others and their property should start at home, as should all issues of ethics and morality. These are issues our government, or government run institutions can not aid in, as they do not posses those things.

I don't wish for a huge political debate either, but i had to vent. this is a problem that that needs to be solved by parenting, not necessarily politics.
THERE IS NO SENSE OF HONOR ANYMORE!

at the end of a very long dead-end road... with my wife, my dogs and my guns. Uh-oh, controversy!

I'm old, I'm grumpy,I own guns, I live too far away for adequate police protection. I am very politically incorrect, and will not tolerate rude behavior. Other than that I'm a heck of a nice guy  8) .

Here is where you should have agreed to call the police and explain the situation - and ask for their opinion - if they could come and make it right. I guess they would have taken a good laugh
But seriously : That ''I'll sue you''-custom in the US , is a big laugh .... here is a malfunction in your system ,IMO

SBDude...You should have slapped the cop for being so f-ing stupid! But seriously, that is the problem here, the cop didn't have enough brain power (or was trained in some faulty way) to get that the youngster was the the problem here. We actually pay cops to know better...but obviously this cop did get it...but this leads to a political debate I don't want to get into here.

Yea, I'm sick of the kids in my area being all talk, or having to get a whole gang involved to end a simple 2 man dispute. I've had my fair share of fist fights, most of them ending in unfair ways. America is being pussified, tbh.

I agree it is most definitely the lack of consequences for actions that is creating the situation.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
