so, recently i bought an 08 american standard fender jazz bass. Unfortunately i have run into somewhat of a financial snag, so if anyone could just give me a quick estimate on how much i could sell this bass for, it would be great! I am really kind of sad that i might have to part ways with this bass, though you have to do what you have to do.

any opinions would be great!

thanks!

Sell it for what you paid for it. You got to use it a while and you get to break even. Life should be so fair.

Search for your exact model on ebay and you'll see what they are going for. HINT: limit the search only to "auctions," which tends to show real sales by regular individual people like you and me who really want to sell (as opposed to big stores or pawn shops who use ebay as their storefront) and you'll see the real deal. I've been doing this lately re: a guitar I want to sell.

Like, if you search for your bass on ebay, you'll initially get hundreds of hits, and most will have the standard guitar center price. But if you limit it to auctions, bam, it will narrow it to 4 to 12 guitars being sold by real people and you'll see the bids.

edit: hmmmmm I just did it for you and I don't see a lot of action with these basses http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0 ... _Auction=1

thanks man! this was extremely helpful, those prices are what i was thinking aswell, between 800 and 900 dollars would be perfect! It just sucks that i might have to sell this awesome instrument that i really really love! though, i do have my squier, which is obviously isn't as good as my am, std. however, its a great sounding playing bass, and it gets the job done fine!
