Hi everyone, excuse what may be too general a question to be answerable....I want to change the bridge on one of my guitars, it's an Overwater, which I suspect most of you won't have heard of. I don't like the 'lift it off the posts' aspect of the standard model, and would like something a bit more sturdy and, above all, fixed. Assuming there isn't a problem with fit, (I had a new bridge pickup fitted a few years ago, and getting at the 'top e' is now murder, there's so little room), I'd like some advice please. How is tone affected, if at all? What about 'Hardtail' Bridges, are they specific to certain guitar designs/fit etc.? Any other suggestions? By the way, I play blues lead stuff mostly, if that's relevant

Is the current bridge fixed or a trem system?

excuse the lack of terminology.....it's not a trem bridge, so I'd assume you'd call it fixed

Does it have a bridge and stopbar like Gibson guitars?

Is the overwater a bass guitar? I just did a search and that's all that was coming up.

I guess we need a bit more info. Do you know what kind of bridge you currently have? Is it like a Tune-o-matic like a Gibson or like what is called a hard-tailed Fender (looks like the Fender floating bridge without the the trem arm) or a wrap-around bridge like some of the Paul Reed Smiths have?

If you have a picture of the bridge that might help too.
