It's possible to have conversation and express opinion w/o the purpose of changing someone else's point of view.

On such grand a issue, or really most issues probably not... On a public forum personal opinion to a subject is a given, and personal opinion by definition will always be from a different viewpoint, What else would you expect?....Only complete adherence to your request on how to answer your topic?.... :? No disrespect.....Just fact.... :|

Different points of view...yes. To persuade you to change yours...no.

Its not that difficult, years back I purchased a full set of DOD body armor from a soldier in need of cash. he later returned for it but I could have said no.
some of these things you have to be law enforcement or military to buy new. but to buy from the original purchaser is quite easy if you have the cash. its possible he got it from an X police officer. who knows. it is also possible it was 80's surplus gear. possibly foreign military, you can get just about anything from Russia

but i don't know all the details on his gear. all i know is his punishment will not fit the crime due to how soft the system is. he will either get room and board or be put to sleep.
not a fitting punishment in my opinion.

and I will avoid the GUN topic for as long as possible..... but i will say this, if someone else in the theater had a firearm, there would have been less deaths.

Well, I'm here to listen to the thoughts of others who I likely won't get to meet in real life - that's a big part of the interest of the Forum to me. I've had my mind changed often by well-expressed points of view and would like to try and stay open to that possibility.

Hi T2: to be fair, I'm not seeing anyone dancing around that issue here. Nobody's saying anything other than that the gunman is responsible for his actions - not on this thread at any rate.

So, given that the weaponry is out there and easily available to such folk, what is to be done to stop completely innocent people getting gunned down in shootings of this kind? They do seem to happen rather often.

It can be established that the Columbine and Aurora incidents are staged, false flag terror psy ops meant to frighten people into giving up their right to own firearms. The lunatic who did the shooting is the child of people who work in black op psy ops programs in Colorado as were the Columbine shooters.

Look up false flag wars and false flag terror acts.

Go ahead, please...I beg of you -- debunk the false flag info!

 you remind me of Mel Gibson in "Conspiracy Theory"
do you have traps set everywhere and stuff? :P

we must start a severe punishment system for these people, like i posted in another thread. if we started sticking them in a modern Iron maiden it will at least make them question this crap.

I would gladly close this guy up in one.

But just to be factual about it, you already have by very far the longest prison sentences in the world. And you imprison a higher percentage of your population than any country except China, I think? And is it right, Colorado still has the death penalty?

But none of that seems to have detered this individual from killing a dozen people and utterly wrecking the lives of many, many more?

500 years ago in Britian we did indeed occasionally use the horrifying punishment that ZZDoc mentioned earlier. And yet that didn't seem to discourage people from committing crimes either.

So, what to do?

I have questions, not answers.

Cheers - C

What's the difference where he bought the items? Somehow I don't think it would have stopped a guy who was about to shoot up a movie theater if he couldn't obtain the equipment legally.
