We're not playing this weekend, so I'm sittin' here at the house without much to do. Just thought I would share a few band pics from last weekend.
Well at least it's givin' me something to do.

This is one of me. I like to go out and jam with the crowd on songs that have a nice bass groove.

This is one of our lead player. Absolutely the funniest guy I know. He has his own special dance moves to share with the crowd from time to time.

Here's one were I'm being "cool" wearing shades. Actually we had been giving our light guy he!! for using too bright of a light. Really wasn't his fault because this stage was pretty small and the lights were right on us, but we gave him a hard time anyway.

This is my reality.

Thanks guys.

A little story about the shirt I'm wearing. I actually found it at a local wal-mart. At first I thought no way. It's a little more "flash" than what I normally wear. But then I thought what the heck, so a couple of weeks later I went back and bought it. It kind of goes with our logo and I might get some fun reactions from people.
Well, the guys in the band liked it and everyone in the crowd seemed to like it. So I guess I'll wear it on gigs every now and then.

My daughter told me I need to get all the guys in the band one. I told her heck no! Then we would look like a bowling team !

I also thought it might be fun to post some "average" gig pictures. There are some really good musicians on this forum and they play some really big venues, but there's alot of us average players that play what venues are available in our area. I fall in that catagory. I work 40 hrs a week at my day job and gig on the weekends wherever we can. Love every minute of it. :D

We first formed the group back in 1987. Our front man had just got a divorce and the band he was in was called Pure Velvet. It included his wife and mother-in-law.
The drummer, keyboard player and lead player were left over from a local rock group named Faxx that had just broken up.
I had been in San Antonio for a year or so and had been back for about 6 months when they called.
We played a few gigs under the name Pure Velvet until one night while we were packing things up a drunk was leaving and shouted back to us, "I love you Blue Velvet!"
Of course we laughed about it, and still do, but we decided we needed another name. The rock guys had a couple of stage lighting effects that were 2 big F's (stood for Faxx). So we were thinking what name has 2 F's. Someone, I don't remember who said Fox Fire.
So there you have it.

Long story to say there's really no meaning behind the name, aint it?
