Post subject: metric truss rod nuts

I have an 1973 alverez 12 string guitar that the truss rod nut is done, it is a 6mm 1.00 thread pitch
I can not find one. ive tryed ,Steward mac, all parts, a couple of guitar stores, Alverez company ,mc master carr, local hardware stores
am I the only one that has ever ruined one? I even tryed to make one with no luck.
anyone have any ideas? or the guitar is junk

If you can find a tap that size you can drill and tap one with a smaller thread.

That won't work.

Edit: I gotcha. Yes you can go undersize with the nut and re-tap it.

That won't work.


no i mean the hole where the threads are located. you drill it out to size and tap it to the threads you need.

this is a barrel nut that I need with a allen wrench hole in one end and threads on the other
