I think Spanish guitar is just a generic name invented by Gibson, I believe, to distinguish it from Hawaiian/lap steel guitar.

I played classical guitar (mostly Bach lute suites and similar type material) in the late 70s/early 80s. I was actually pretty good at it. I never played it, but I love Flaminco.

Flamenco guitar music will have a beat suitable to accompany flamenco dancers.

I guess Spanish guitar music would be any Spanish enthic music played on a (probably nylon) string guitar.

You'll want to get up and stomp your feet and clap you hands if you hear flamenco music.

In case you're interested there is a differnce between classical nylon stringed guitars and Spanish/flamenco nylon string guitars

Fellow forum member Adey, now sadly passed away, was a very knowledgeable person in the field of classical guitar. If you do a search in his threads or posts you will find a whole load of interesting info on his subject.

Hope this helps-
