Had a great time watching young muscians showoff what they have been learning at their guitar lessons. It was so much fun seeing all the smiles and love for music. Absolutely nothing cuter than the really young ones strumming their hearts out with a smile! I sure hope everyone tries to support small town shops when possible you cant get that atmosphere at a GC

This is a great post. Yes, it is very important to support your local mom & pop shop.

The owner of our local Fender dealer, MUSIC MART in Albemarle NC has been ill lately and I would like to ask for some MOJO from Fender Forum members for this gent. His name is Fred Sides and he's a really, really nice guy. I've been shopping at his store since I moved to NC in 1980. It really is a neat shop and without it I'd have to go to Charlotte or Concord as the only other shop in town doesn't really stock pro level basses or amps.

boy, i wish there were more of these things.

back in the 60's, one of the small music stores (where i took lessons) had different events. my band played at a few, and i also went to the i.m.l. contest at cedar point where i twice won in my division. it gives these youngsters a lot of confidence, and exposes new people to guitar playing
