Rarely, but I do enjoy a Cohiba with a coffee or scotch after a special meal out or to celebrate.

A fellow from work brought a box back from the Dominican and passed them out, don't know the brand off hand. But all this talk has got my taste buds going, so tonight it is.

May I suggest...
The pipe, a double espresso and instead of scotch, drambuie...or mix the scotch and drambuie.
Gotta find my pipe! Another thing about pipes is that they go well with a nice shag. 8)

I was on a business trip in Austin in '99 or '00 and that evening went to 6th street to check out an open mic night (I did not participate). They were selling cigars in the place so I bought one. I forget the brand but it was OK for someone like me that might have a cigar once in three years. :P

While I was there I noticed myself in a mirror behind the bar and I thought I looked like an idiot with that cigar in my mouth. I haven't had another one since.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think most folks look stupid with a cigar in their mouth. It just doesn't work for me.

The open mic night was amazing. Only two guitarist showed up but they were both awesome.

Cheers,

As some folks say, back in the day. I would typically smoke one William Penn Panatella every day while driving the 40 miles to work. The smoke would last from the time I hit the freeway untill I pulled in to the parking lot. about 40 minutes. Finally my dad realised that I was swiping his cigars, he changed brands and made some rather boastful threats. So in my own best interest, I decided to quit and returned to my winston's.
I went through from two to three packs a day for the next 20+ years. Now I have COPD and Congestive heart failior to show for it. Enjoy your smokes boys and girls. They will demand a prity high price, "Further On Down The Rode".

I like Carlos Torano. They are an old Cuban cigar making family. Their major line is Exodus 1959, the year they fled Castro & communism and left Cuba. These are very good smokes and very well known/popular.

I am also quite fond of the PUNCH brand of cigars. I like their London Club caronas in maduro.

Partagas Spanish Rosados are a favorite of mine when sipping a fine single barrel bourbon.

Smoke Up & Enjoy! :)

I generally prefer a pipe too, smells much better, isn't as much of a time commitment, and costs less. People laugh when they see a 21 year old with a pipe, but I just feel classy 8)

I however will not touch a cigarette (except once after a few too many drinks). Cigarettes are for addicts; cigars and pipes are for enjoyment.

I agree about pipes and pipe tobacco. Besides smoking Macanudo cigars on occasion, I smoke a pipe as well (heck, probably more than cigars). My favorite pipe tobacco is from the local cigar/tobacco store, and is called Buttered Rum. I tried this pipe tobacco, I tried that tobacco, all sorts of flavors of pipe tobacco, and I always came back to Buttered Rum. It's fantastic. I have a Saseini slightly bent shaft pipe, and a straight Eriksen pipe. I need another pipe, but I just haven't found the right one yet.

+1 :D

I have heard that the rich aromatic qualities of Cuban cigars have been attributed to Cuban soil PH levels.

What do you mean by that? I don't find it that hard to stay away from cigarettes, I don't find anything desirable about them. The one time I did have one I was pretty drunk and figured, "Eh, f*** it, why not." But pipes are so much nicer in every way except convenience, and cigars are too expensive to become a habit. Plus my girlfriend dislikes the cigar taste :p
