Hey Tim this is a classic, I really like the 'Real" Fleetwood Mac Some things are better off not being brought up to date.

I posted a link to a video I enjoyed to a thread about "Fleetwood Mac" in a friendly way and in the spirit of all things related to "Fleetwood Mac". If I had any warning this was for Fleetwood Mac, UK version and anyone who like Fleetwood Mac, US version was unwelcome then I would not have posted the link.

The response to my post about bring things up to date was the above, "things are better off not being brought up to date".

I felt that was an extremely negative, uncool, and uncalled for response. If it was meant as a friendly, good natured response, cool...

Take it for what it is. Good God will this kind of stuff never end?
Grow a thicker skin people. Another person's feelings hurt over an opinion? Those of us who were Fleetwood Mac/Peter Green/Danny Kirwan era fans it isn't the same. Danny was something like 17 or 18 when he joined. Same thing with The Who without Moon and the Ox. It's not the same.
inbalance99, if you like Pop music, it's all cool. I don't call you stupid because you do. Anyone who knows me knows I shoot from the hip and that I'm honest, passionate and blunt with my remarks. I never personally attacked anyone on this forum unless I am pushed to total frustration. Get over it. It's a comment/opinion. I'm way too old to be playing these little you hurt my feelings kiddie games. I personally don't care who agrees with my opinion.
I think you knew what tbazzone was talking about when he posted this. What us older guys consider the "Real" Fleetwood Mac, not the bubblegum pop version.

Did you take offence to my comment?

Why?

Just a minute, just a minute,............ I see what’s going on here.

If I in any way offended you or sent out bad vibes in any way then I sincerely apologize.

I sincerely hope this ends any and all bad feelings on this matter.

Don't apologize. I didn't take offense at all. Personal attacks piss me off. Not all smart people have open or flexible minds. Unlike some folks I'm not riding this horse.

If I offend another either overtly or more subtly I have no problem expressing an apology.
I believe being able to apologize shows strength of character.
Being unable to admit to a mistake or offense demonstrates a thick skull.

I don't consider an opinion a mistake. Personal attacks are.

And your post, number 4 of this thread, was not an opinion, it was a personal attack on my post.

A personal attack would be "That inbalance99 is a _________" fill in the blank. it was an opinion you can't personally attack a thread it's not a person  . You're going on my ignore/foe list so I won't be bothered by your comments.

An opinion would be "I don't like Lindsay Buckingham's signing, song writing and guitar playing."

That I would have absolutely no problem with.

Saying my post was better off never having been made is an insult.

I hope some day you will try to appreciate the difference.

Nah Tim, it's just an influx of noobs, kids off for the summer or something. You know me, I get along with almost everyone. Some folks just don't let up. I only have four on my foe list. I can't stand the crybaby stuff.

By the way, I'll drive this way off topic. I'm almost finished a six string cigar box guitar. I tried the four stringers but I want more. It's got a maple Tele style neck, Dano Lipstick tube pup and Bridge. It's getting close.

Hey Tim, if you decide to go the cigar box route, here's a couple of links.
www.cigarboxnation.com

And for parts
www.cbgitty.com

CBGitty is great. I buy all kinds of stuff from them, tuners, fretboards, hardware.
That's where I got the neck. It was a little under fifty bucks and it's maple neck and board, fretted with a truss rod, bone nut, pre drilled headstock and a skunk stripe with a satin finish. I'll tell you what, it's pretty nice. The fretwork is perfect too. Give you only one guess where it's made.
