Hey Tim, They only survived because Stevie Nicks was decent looking. Buckingham/Nicks era Mac was nothing but a bunch of pop music. Mac and Cheese to be precise. She still had that goat voice thing going on. And wait, Santana didn't write Black Magic Woman???? Nope that was Peter Green too. Oh Well.....

Just saw Santana Saturday night in Toronto, outdoor venue by the lake, beautiful evening. Really enjoyed the performance and very happy I got to see him live.

She was good lookin back the not so much now. I love the goat voice reference. I guess Mick just wanted to make some cash.

The tightness and groove of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie has been a fine tuned machine ever since the old John Mayall days, IMO.

There was a thread about great dummers a while back, I was the only one to mention Fleetwood, he is a great drummer. Pretty good actor as well.

I'm not disputing their playing ability, I just don't like the whole pop music route they followed. Mick is the only original member left. They are a huge departure from their original blues and rock roots.

Smart people have open and flexible minds, they are able to appreciate a wide variety of experiences. Others, not so much.

I'm sure Mick Fleetwood appreciated their success during the 70's.

I'm sure he did too.
Just for the record, I DO have an open and flexible mind and listen to and enjoy an extremely wide variety if music, from Bagpipe, Middle Eastern, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Progressive Rock, Jazz Fusion, Celtic, Classical, Punk, you name it. I consider myself a fairly smart person and did like the original Fleetwood Mac. If not liking the Buckingham/Nicks era Mac make me stupid and closed minded so be it. It's pretty obvious you like them and find a need to defend that. You don't. We all have different tastes. Doesn't make someone closed minded at all.

I posted a link to a video I enjoyed to a thread about "Fleetwood Mac" in a friendly way and in the spirit of all things related to "Fleetwood Mac". If I had any warning this was for Fleetwood Mac, UK version and anyone who like Fleetwood Mac, US version was unwelcome then I would not have posted the link.

The response to my post about bring things up to date was the above, "things are better off not being brought up to date".

I felt that was an extremely negative, uncool, and uncalled for response. If it was meant as a friendly, good natured response, cool...
