Leon Hendrix, with Adam Mitchell, has authored a new book 'Jimi Hendrix: A Brother's Story' http://tinyurl.com/7lc9sos.

I came across it while at B&N in Iowa last week, & only had a few minutes to browse thru it. The one thing that I saw was that there were only 'stock' pictures of Jimi in the center picture section. This fact led me to believe that the book wouldn't be worth reading, but I was wrong.

I picked the book up here last week, and wasn't prepared for Leon to be so frank about his & Buster's early home life and Leon's later drug addiction. He doesn't write about Jimi's early career or really of any of Jimi's experiences, because he wasn't there.

Of course he writes about Janie Hendrix, but really not in a vindicate tone. I don't want to spoil the story, in case someone reads the book.

I found this topic, and thought i'd jump in.two friends and i went to AL HENDRIX'S house in seattle, right by the boeing plant.he showed us all of jimi's gold albums, and brought us downstairs to check out the jimi room.al told us that jimi played the bass in the church band when he was young.al kept saying "WHEN JIMI GOT EXPERIENCED",and talked about jimi living in europe.we took AL up to parkers ballroom in seattle to see the yellow rose of texas,JOHNNY WINTER.mr johnny felt he had to point out AL in the crowd, and the place just roared.after the gig,AL went on johnny's bus,and they talked a while.we then took AL home.i always wanted to go back and visit AL however,he passed away before i could visit him again.ALL and ALL,ONE NIGHT I'LL NEVER FORGET.OLDESKOLMAN.
