I change them as needed. That maybe once a week or month, depending on how much the guitar gets played.

When I'm not too lazy?

I bought a 12 pack of strings not long ago, so I have no excuse, but I've just been too lazy to change them lately. Maybe cause my jam space is in my loft which has been too hot to play much recently.

Too much time in the pool while chops are slipping away.

Depends on use. Of the 12 I have, maybe four get real playing time. One of those four gets most of the time. I find the problem down here is the salty, humid air. If you don't play them the strings begin to corrode so I need to change the strings on the ones I don't play.

Just about everything in South Florida is backwards.

I usually change strings during the month of September on all 5 guitars played at least an hour a day, 2-3 different guitars each week. Dunlop Ultraglide string conditioner & cleaner is part of the clean and polish routine whch happens on a random, as the mood strikes me kind of basis, and I'm sure it lenghtens the playing life of a set of strings.

Not as often as I probably should.......

Used to be every gig, now it's about every month or so (for the ones I play regularly)

On acoustic every gig (about once a week)
Electric once a month
Dead strings are much more noticeable on acoustic than electric to my ears. I rotate out my electrics about once a month, so I usually change strings when I decide which one I will be playing.

With Daddario 11-48's I get about 3-4 hours constant playing before i hear the chimey sound leave the strings...... So it can be two to three weeks or it can be one night..... Depends how often i'm playing that certain guitar.

My hands and fingers don't sweat, at all. My strings don't corrode and my fretboards don't get dirty. I change strings when I feel like it, maybe every 3-4 months, bearing in mind that I have at least 18 guitars hanging on the walls or on stands here in the Music Room and I play most of them through the course of a month. When I change strings, I usually do 6-8 guitars at a time and I'm pretty fast at it. Gigging guitars don't get changed any more often than the rest.

I hardly ever change strings. If the intonation is all wonky because they're too old i'll put new one's on or if i break a string. Remember Eddie Van Halen saying he hardly ever changed strings, just boiled them once in a while

They're becoming pretty expensive too so no way i could afford to be changing strings all the time :P

Maybe once every 2 months. The only time I broke a string when playing was when I first started. One, they were Fender Bullets (no offense, Fender, but your bullet strings suck, imo), 2 they were on the guitar since the guy put it up in 2007. Since switching to EB 9s, and then down to 8s, I haven't broken a string, unless it was intentional, to change it. But I change when they get corroded, which can take up to 2 and a half months.

I put a new set of strings on my telecaster about two weeks ago. The A strings just broke. I'm not best pleased.

I change strings as soon as they show any signs of weakness. I can't stand strings that won't hold tune and I don't want to risk having a string break.
