It is a great amp indeed. My school has that model, if not a very similar model, and the tones you can get out of it are amazing.
Play it loud

I saw that it has a Celestion V-12 Greenback in it, ...
It has to be the best sounding Crate that I've ever played through. Plus, it's 80 watts ...

Be aware that typical G12M Greenback speakers are rated at 25 watts, so don't blow it.

Fickle ? Maybe so, but that's my right. Hell, isn't Eric Johnson fickle about tone as well ?
Wow! You're equating yourself with Eric Johnson? That puts you well above the rest of us.

Searching for the Perfect Tone is one thing, but doing so while keeping your amp purchase price under $100 seems a bit limiting. What drives me crazy is that every time you find a cheap old amp you feel compelled to start a new thread touting it as The Dream Amp You Have Been Looking For Your Whole Life! And then a week or two later, here comes another brand new thread about another $70 amp...

And you never seem to clean them up before you add the picture to your post. If they're such great amps, how about a little TLC?

He won't do it himself. his tech, or a roadie, would do that.

The thing is, Eric Johnson isn't FICKLE about his tone, he's a professional musician who's sound and playing ability is vital to his career. And when you are endorsing a new line of $250 speakers, you'd better know what you are doing. You, on the other hand, are an occasional performer who spent his best years playing a Squier bass in an 80s hair metal tribute band.

What can I say? You make almost these same remarks about every old amp you buy, equating them with both a wonderful "Fender" clean sound and that classic "Marshall" distortion sound. And yet, in a matter of weeks, those amps are generally history to make room for the next latest and greatest.

And yet, Jeffo, you feel compelled, almost driven, to come on here and post about every single little aspect of your gear - every amp you buy, every modification you have made to your 2008 (Indonesian Beauty) Squier Strat, what picks you use, even telling the world that if you were stuck on a desert island you'd take a Fender Frontman 212 and a Lake Placid Blue MIM Strat. Set those sights high!

And you go further than that, telling the world (through this and other forums) that you had alcohol and drug problems, but you quit them cold turkey; you're no longer into skin mags now since you are happily married, you think The Walking Dead is THE best show on TV these days, you love YouTube, you're a black belt in some martial art, you're working to adopt an 8-year-old boy. You just can't keep from telling us all about every aspect of your personal life and yet nothing you post is supposed to be any of our business?

Then there's the long line of posts you've made about your 2008 Squier. I reference just a couple:

jeffo46 wrote:
I got this 2008 model (your Squier) a few weeks ago from some high school kid who was looking for something different. I traded a ESP LTD M-15 to him for it, and I'm glad that I did. This guitar blows away the ESP in spades and is much more versatile. Reminds me of my old 2006 MIM Fender Standard.
Didn't you just sell that Squier off (actually, you said you sold ALL of your Fenders) and pick up a couple of cheap ESP guitars, telling us that THEY blew away the Fender stuff? Talk about a guy who can't figure out where he's going.

Here's the final finished product at last. I put on a 70's [Fender] waterslide headstock decal and added a new set of Graph-tech bridge saddles which helped wih the sustain and tuning as well. Now I have several offers to sell her . I'm considering it because I got my eye on one of those brand new Squier Modified Series Strats.
Now here's where I really started to get annoyed with you. Bad enough to go on and on about that Squier and all the great mods you did on it, but then you had to come on here and post, more than once, about making yourself a fake Fender Strat - on the Fender Forums!

When you bid your "Fond Adieu" some months back and announced that you had sold your Fender guitars and switched over to ESPs I asked how you had handled the sale of the FAKE Strat, but you never answered me. You got quite testy and said that you had only faked one Strat, not two, but I wonder to this day if someone isn't going to start a thread in the Strat Forum about some guitar he just bought and is it a real Fender?

If you don't want someone questioning your choice in gear and what you've done with it, don't keep posting about it.

Yeah, I guess you ARE angry... and rude, too, but then you're still just a kid... I'm simply trying to answer some questions posed. Maybe if you spent less time on the Forum and more time with your instruments you could find some inspiration.
