It is not my place to judge the comments a man has about the people and places he comes from. Only he knows what his experiences and observations were. It's nobody's place to judge that but his. I certainly wouldn't want someone to arbitrarily step on my turf and tell me what's what about my business or my history or my racial or family lineage. I would tell such a person to, "Kiss my rosey white and eat dirt, mofo."

However, when I see a fellow board member attacking another member personally instead of sticking to the argument at hand I will step in and speak my mind on the matter. It is not simply my contention, it is far more than that; it is the simple unavoidable truth that there remains only one person who needs to apologise here.

Dude...you and I have rattled around this joint long enough to know the reasons why and I'm not about to crack another can of worms to wax poetic on the subject. They are who they are.

Excellent photograph....the price of notoriety. Someone had to photograph him. [Anybody remember the photo of him standing in a laundromat trying to get wash done? :? :? ] This why he's entitled to spend his money as he sees fit and, if Ferrari's do it for him, so be it. He can give the world the finger and run around singing "Na Na NaNa Na" to a Robert Johnson melody. {At least he didn't steal "Crossroads" and call it his own the way Led Zeppelin stole "Traveling Riverside Blues'' and renamed it 'The Lemon Song"]

Honestly I think the average person really underestimates how difficult life would be with cameras and videos on your back every single day.

I mean if I really think about it the amount of things I do or say everyday which would potentially ruin a career if released in the press is astonishing.

Well said. I'm even surprised that he's shared images of his family with his audience. There are public figures who go to great lengths to shield those close to them. And then there's Conor. Such a tragedy. That might have turned out to be a fascinating guitar duo among other things.

Here we go i was prepared to let it rest until someone else reared their head into the abyss and started mouthing off.

Well if nobody cares if someone slags a whole section of society by putting them down and proudly decaring they're all poor because they're lazy and don't want to work to get ahead it's a sad day for this forum and says a lot about the people making that declaration.

And BTW don't tell me to shut up  This is a forum and i'm entitled to my viewpoint.

So here we have it: the Fender forum that is populated by a large amount of people who don't give a $@!& about the plight of others less fortunate than themselves and who proudly like to mouth off that it's all their own fault.

There are some good folk on this board who have a bit of empathy for others less fortunate than themselves. Unfortunately they haven't appeared on this thread apart from GTG who is obviously a good sort.

So because Floyd what's his name mouthed off and started the $@!& all up again consider the thread back on again as far as i'm concerned.

I'd like an acceptance by Hou-Tex and BMW man that what Hou-Tex said was all encompassing and crass and wrong. If the two gentlemen are not prepared to do that then once again it shows them up as being ignorant people who don't give a damn about the plight of others.

God..Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Time to move on.

Looks like a Leica M9 Rangefinder. It's the world's first full-frame, 35mm digital rangefinder camera. Sells for around seven grand for just the body, no lens. 18 MP. Real easy to shoot with a lens cap on. You're not looking through the lens when you shoot a rangefinder like you do with a SLR. At least with a digital camera you can see you have no image on the display. I guess he can't have a nice camera and play the Blues either.

I just pre ordered a Nikon D800. 36 MP Full frame DSLR. It's for my business so I guess I can still play the Blues, oh wait, I own my own business, I guess I don't qualify. But wait, I'm just as broke as the next guy so.........

Gorgon's on my ignore list now. I can't take this you owe me an apology crap anymore. Gorgon, we understand, you don't like Clapton, we get it honest. Fight your private battles privately.

Half my family's from Scotland, if they acted like that, I'd disown them.
Time to toss this caber.

On another note, the lens behind Clapton suggests to me that he is at a sports event...

Nothing self righteous on my part, i just don't like to hear a pompous person demean a whole society of people in one fell swoop all the while being egged on by people who seem of the same ilk.

There are cool people on this forum but unfortunately there seems to be a section of it with an i'm alright so screw you attitude that gets on my nerves. Hou-Tex and BMW are the two worst and are the two who need to apologise. As i said it's not much to ask.

Hou-Tex wrote:
I don't buy into that "Entitlement" mentality because someone was born poor and too lazy to work hard to get ahead. That's BS

^^^ That's where we have it. A sweeping generalisation that everyone that's born poor who remains poor is poor because they're lazy and don't want to work. No referring to poor sods who bust their $@! in their jobs for peanuts and are on the breadline. In the UK there's a name for them; they call them "The Working Poor" those who work hard but their jobs are so exploited by the greed of others that their wages are diabolical and even though they work hard they still usually have to claim some kind of benefits.

That's what this pompous person needs to apologise for: an across the board dismissal of the plight of others by lumping them all together ie. they're all poor so they must all be lazy.

I'm afraid it doesn't work like that in the real world. In the real world there are people who work in poorly paid jobs who are not much better (sometimes no better) than people who claim state benefits.
I'm afraid it doesn't work like that in the real world. In the real world there are people who work in poorly paid jobs who are not much better (sometimes no better) than people who claim state benefits.
In the real world there are people who staggered out of the Nazi extermination camps at the end of WWII, had to wait on a quota list based on country of national origin , didn't have two pennies to rub together, and needed a sponsor stateside, to be able to emigrate to the United States. Families did not arrive together, sometimes years apart, because the spouses were born under different flags. They started out pushing brooms and ended up business owners, property owners, and millionaires. English was a language they had to learn in order to survive and did not have an attitude about learning, or becoming part of the great melting pot and patchwork quilt of a people without losing their cultural identities. Others have followed suit, but in contemporary society, this pattern has changed.

This is not a Forum for social engineering but I can tell you that the many paths I have walked in last half century have caused me to forge definite opinions about peoples and governments[federal, state, and local]and how they've interacted to their own worst interests. If you'd like find yourself across the pond someday, I'd be glad to sit down with you for a pleasant dinner and conversation as my guest, and we can spend a long day and night, if need be, hashing through this. Until then, time to return to the issues which bring us together in this forum.

Doc
